I only heard a snippet of this on Keith Olbermann in the background. He said another figure is under criminal investigation in Washington. Then he divulged that that figure is Republican Senator Richard Shelby.
Something about not turning over some correspondence the day before 9/11 that tomorrow would be "the day" or something like that.
.
What with Berger getting caught with his Hanes full.
Maybe something will pop up on Google News. Afterall, they spotlight news that is good for the Dims.
Yawwwwwwn...
...so he could hardly be in trouble for not turning anything over.
5 Legislative Days Left Until The AWB Expires
No surprise, then, that September 11 commission chairman Thomas Kean, former Republican governor of New Jersey, noted that "three-quarters of what I read that was classified shouldn't have been." Or that last year, when a congressional committee investigating the 9/11 attacks was forced to black out an entire part of its report said to deal with Saudi Arabia, former Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Richard Shelby, R-Ala., commented that he had carefully reviewed those sections "and my judgment is that 90 to 95 percent could be released and not compromise our intelligence in any way."
Maybe that explains it- my timeline-filled homepage used to score pretty high on google and not long ago it quit registering on their "pageranks." Unless their indexer just hasn't come by lately...
Senator Shelby, in the past day or two, has mentioned that he personally knew about the Sudan offer. He blames Berger/Clinton. This is probably the Dems rumor-mongering to take the heat off Berger.
I think the spin is now, "Yeah, the stuff Berger stole was classified, but it shouldn't have been."
"The Justice Department's 18-month investigation into the leak of classified intercepted messages is focusing on Sen. Richard C. Shelby (R-Ala.), who was chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence at the time of the disclosure, according to a law enforcement official and congressional sources".
It's archived but the page that it's linked to is empty.
My homepage is updated about 3 or 4 times a day, by my two good hands, and since it has alot of Pro-Bush stuff on there, it's been ranking lower and lower.
Yup...that's what I heard. Olbermann repeated "criminal investigation" several times...I think to trigger a link in viewers' minds to the Berger thing.
Yep, giving the impression that both sides were criminally involved in evidence tampering, document shredding, underwear stuffing. In other words, both sides were trying to cover tracks.
Yep. The Dims lame desperate attempt at shifting the focus.
Exactly. Looking at classified intelligence was part of Shelby's job. Leaking it is another story, but there's no evidence of any leaks.
The timing is suspect.
I do vaguely remember this investigation back in January, but nothing came about it. Seems the Democrats are trying to construct legs to an old story.
I expect more AWOL proclamations next week since Bush has released his records, again. They never get tired of the same four or five catch phrases: AWOL, Bush Lied, Abu Ghraib, Halliburton, no WMDS (recycle and back to AWOL).
