When asked by a caller how we could get Southern voters to vote for a democrat again, "Comic" Bill Maher just went on the following tirade against the South, Christians and Second Amendment patriots:

You know, that's a sore point with me in the South, the way they have a stranglehold on the electorate because... excuse me... and I love playing the red states, because when I play the red states in my stand-up act, you know, I get all the people who don't usually have someone like me come to their state, so there's a great bonding. And I feel for them, because there's a lot of smart people in the South. But in general, it is the dumbest part of the country.

Excuse me. It is. And also, they're the super patriots - the one part of the country that ever actually seceeded. The one part of the country that ever actually committed treason. And they seem to lead in how we are supposed to think. Because they are more religious. They are more "patriotic". And... umm.. I think it's just a a disservice to our...

Larry King: You think in modern day America, you can still claim a whole region is dumber than another reigon?

Maher: They lead the region in dumbness, yes they do. Because they, there's too many people that just think every problem can be solved by either more guns or more Jesus. And like I said, I'm with the people who are following their compass; not with the people who are reading the entrails of the chicken. Absolutely!! It is part of their innate arrogance which is the reason for their "democrat" fervor. Always superior to the "little people" (Martha?)they feel the need to control everyone's life through the almighty government.

I know I've been called a yankee before on FR, but I want tell my fellow freepers from Dixie to take heart. Maher doesn't know what he is talking about and usually doesn't. Maher is not as funny or as clever as he thinks he is. And he probably doesn't care much for people in "fly over" country where I reside either.
