In light of recent comments by John Kerry "If I am elected president and the recommendations of the 9/11 commision are not in place, I will call an emergency session of congress to put them in place"
This is an opportunity the White House cannot pass up. The President should call an emergency session of congress to implement 9/11 commision recommendations immediately. Let the Democrats complain that it is political calling an emergency session on the eve of the DNC convention and all Bush has to say this is Leadership, this needs to happen now to make america safer. These recommendations are not partisan.
Although I have not read the report fully, I am sure that there are some measures in the report that the Dems may not want implemented and any "no" vote will sure to get the american publics attention prior to NOV 02.
What do you think?

Give the guy a break. Chris Cox mentioned that the timing of the release of the 9/11 report was partially planned to prevent Bush and congress from taking any action in this session, so as not to be able to gain any political advantage.
Maybe the posting guidelines should be modifed to add a statement that reads:
"Do not post a vanity during your first few months at FR or else you will be called a Troll, Stupid, Idiot, and mocked in general
These cat calling priviledges will granted to you after a period of hazing and general harrasment".
More evidence that Kerry isn't wrapped to tight. He can't call an emergency session of Congress until he is sworn in as President. When he is sworn in as president, Congress would already be in session.
So, what are you going to do John, send them home so you can call them back?
Congress is already in session, so there is no need for the President to do anything.
Any *Senator* who thinks that the 9/11 Commission's suggestions are worthwhile can submit a bill today, in fact, or even tomorrow.
But they won't. The Senators will yawn and do nothing...at least until such time as they can blame Bush for "not acting."
That's how they pull chicks like you along for their ride, after all.
What's funny is that people like you will *always* fall for it.
