In light of recent comments by John Kerry "If I am elected president and the recommendations of the 9/11 commision are not in place, I will call an emergency session of congress to put them in place"
This is an opportunity the White House cannot pass up. The President should call an emergency session of congress to implement 9/11 commision recommendations immediately. Let the Democrats complain that it is political calling an emergency session on the eve of the DNC convention and all Bush has to say this is Leadership, this needs to happen now to make america safer. These recommendations are not partisan.
Although I have not read the report fully, I am sure that there are some measures in the report that the Dems may not want implemented and any "no" vote will sure to get the american publics attention prior to NOV 02.
What do you think?
I have to agree. The whole thing's been stage-managed and filtered by Clinton cronies (Gorelick, Sandburglar) then spun like a dervish by RINOs like Kean, Gergen, etc. It might make a good firestarter material.
C'mon! I'm smahhrt! I'm not as dumb as day say I am! I'm shahhhrt I tell ya!
Think? Think it's good to think. Not so good to act. Worse to advise juggler with many knives in air to do things that just popped into your cranium. Best to observe the ongoing failure of human will at work.
Welcome to the fun.

Absolutely a partisan hatchet job. I've heard the report blames both Clinton and Bush administrations. I don't understand why. Bush had not even been in office for a year. Most agencies were not even fully staffed.
He's trying to take the initiative, define the argument, make the first move, go on the offensive. It doesn't matter that he's jumping the gun ludicrously. Just get in there with your sound bite before the other guys do. Then it looks as if they are responding to you. Never mind the lawyers, we should kill all the political consultants.
Exactly. LOL
I believe the Administration has already been doing a great job protecting the country. Hanoi John French Kerry has not been around in DC enough over the past years to know what's really happening in our government & he readily acknowledges rejecting security + intelligence briefings so it's no surprise he has no idea what's going on and thinks the country hasn't had anything done simply because he's so incompetent.
I am nit sure about implementing something we have not read completely yet, but, it should would be a dandy time to have a vote on some judicial nominees..
The worst decision-in my opinion-made by the Bush administration during its first term, was retaining George Tenet as the director of Central Intelligence.
Most any action in government is BAD.
Where did you go? One rule of posting a thread (as Incredible Edible Egg just found out) is to actually stick around to answer the replies you get.
we have branced out into waffles and hashbrowns (scattered-smothered-chunked-covered)?
