Bush/Cheney Lead The Way In Ohio

(CPOD) Jul. 22, 2004 – The Republican ticket of George W. Bush and Dick Cheney could carry the state of Ohio in the 2004 United States presidential election, according to a poll by Strategic Vision. 48 per cent of respondents would vote for the incumbents, while 43 per cent would support Democratic challengers John Kerry and John Edwards.

Independent candidate Ralph Nader and running mate Peter Camejo garner the support of one per cent of respondents, while eight per cent remain undecided. The election is scheduled for Nov. 2.

Bush carried Ohio’s 21 electoral votes in 2000, with 50 per cent of the vote. The state has supported the eventual president in every election since 1964.

Polling Data

If the 2004 presidential election were held today, would you vote for George W. Bush and Dick Cheney, the Republicans, John Kerry and John Edwards, the Democrats, or Ralph Nader and Peter Camejo, the independents?

Bush / Cheney (R) 48%

Kerry / Edwards (D) 43%

Nader / Camejo (I) 1%

Undecided 8%

He'll win Ohio.

The Amazing Kreskin was on Fox & Friends this morning. He said Bush would win, and it wouldn't be close. If Kreskin says... ;)

Where's that "bump" Edwards was supposed to give Kerry.

Although they have worked for the RNC, the company says this was an independent poll.

What is Kreskin's track record? Bet it is better than most TV "pundits"...

Glad to see this poll out of Ohio - (though, I haven't heard of the polling firm before) -

Though, if GWB isn't winning OH - there is no point to the election - GWB won't win without Ohio -

A incumbent Republican winning OH is not really news - the news would be if he was down? - being in a life and death struggle with a 20 year, washed up NE liberal in a historical "conservative" strong-hold such as Ohio does raise an eyebrow or two....though, does it not?

I have said I felt the GWB campaign ran a terrible campaign from OCT 2003 until April of this year - (I stand by that) - The very fact that GWB is in a life and death struggle with against a candidate that would NEVER HAVE WON THE PRESIDENCEY during ANY other American election in history says something - (and don't give me the Country is more liberal - that is media BS!! - we own the Senate the House, more State Gov't, and more State Houses then ever before! - when we get our message out we win!! -

Lets hope Kerry doesn't get much of a bounce out of his convention - I don't think he will - (5pts tops) - Though, if Kerry does get up by 15pts - GWB is in serious trouble -

I mean, I understand the idea behind putting out "high expectations" and trying to make it so Kerry can't hit them (for the general public) - but between us here on the freep.....GWB supporters....the facts remain....as a sitting incumbent if GWB gets down by 15pts this late.....He's toast most likely come Nov. (but again, I don't think he will get down by 15pts).

The Amazing Kreskin is not somebody I have held in high esteem, however, he was impressive this morning. After calling Steve, ED, and Brian a bunch of likable flakes ;), he revealed the secret of his success. He says he reads up on the subject matter, forgets about it for a day, and then sees what he feels/thinks about it the next day. They discussed how often he is right and gave some examples. That beats the heck out of the Miss Cloe & crossing over to the other side (whatever their names are) types!!

And you are still panicking today. Bush will, at a minimum carry the states he won in 2000. He may pick up a few others, such as NM, OR, and WI. If his approvals improve markedly he could pick up PA, MN or IA.

I agree with at times when I look at the "STATE" maps - It seems that AR & FL are the key (I expect OH to go GWB) - That if GWN can hold AR & FL - he should have a very good shot at winning - (meaning he would just have to pick up any of the following to win (MN,WI,IA,MI,PA....or NM,NH,WV together)

Though, you seeming assured that GWB will carry WV and NH is odd - (even MO has turned very competitive...which is not a good sign - the latest poll out of MO shows Kerry up 2pts...with the two before that showing GWB up only 2pts) -

I understand South Ohio has a large southern Baptist population. They will act against Kerry on both abortion and mariage.

I don't see WV as necessarily Kerry country. Those folks are religious, even though they are unioin. Gas and goods prices will be important there. Then again, WV's been bought before. Besides, since when is anyone Rockefeller actually interested in West Virginia people for cry eyed?

A great part of Ohio way back was part of the Virginia Military Tract. Part of it is still in Appalachia, over in hill country. Stills and everything. Gorgeous, gorgeous drive. Great people.
