Jerome is no ghost town! L0L

It is dead as a mining town though.

Kewl piece of the west, just between prescott and sedona.

Jerome is built into the mountain and is actually sliding down the side of it!

Its one hell if a trip trough jerome, the switchbacks will make you dizzy L0L

Bisbee arizona is a great town as well.

Bisbee is the home of the "copper Queen Mine" this is wher most of the copper was produced to bring edisons dream of electricity to America. oddly Arizona was a territory at the time and didnt share the wealth...the miners worked by candle light.

Bisbee is the sister town of ..Tombstone AZ

Ok, I haven't read the comments yet, but this is great! I have a co-worker and good friend who spent a weekend in Jerome last year, it may have been in Allen's Bed and Breakfast!

Is that where you stayed, sportsterman? If not, he can tell us and the troops a little more about Jerome!

Good evening everyone!

It sure was fun doing this thread. We happened to find this town via a search on Google for "Smalltown USA". When we found the website, it was the first city listed. We went to the website and we came across azjerome.com.

Because MoJo doesn't follow instructions like most folks we happened to luck out with this one. MoJo called the number listed elsewhere. When the Chamber of Commerce number had been found, Allen answered the phone. He was very generous and gracious with his time. I explained what the FR Canteen was about and that we would be highlighting his town. He provided a lot of detail on the phone and via his website for all of us to enjoy.

He also has offered a stay at his Ghost City Inn Bed & Breakfast to one of our Active Duty personnel that wins the contest that Ma and MoJo have yet to think up. So? Everyone be looking for that in the coming days.

We lucked out and are very grateful for everything Allen did in helping us. Thank you, Allen!

Also, if you have a chance to stay in Jerome...Please consider supporting Allen for helping to Support Our Troops!!

No Sale

Read: Acts 8:9-25

Peter said to him,“Your money perish with you, because you thought that the gift of God could be purchased with money!” —Acts 8:20

Bible In One Year: Psalms 31-32; Acts 23:16-35

Police officers in St. Louis have had at least one easy arrest. It occurred at the back door of the police station when a drunk driver pulled his car right up to the booking window, thinking he was at Burger King. After attempting to place his order at what he thought was a drive-up window, the surprised driver was arrested by the booking officer and charged with drunk driving.

A man named Simon also got the surprise of his life. According to Acts 8, he was a former sorcerer in Samaria before becoming a follower of Christ. His surprise came when he walked up to the apostles and offered them money. He wanted them to give him the power to lay hands on people and impart to them the Holy Spirit. The apostle Peter emphatically refused, and accused him of being under the influence of something worse than alcohol.

Peter wasn’t overreacting. It’s dangerous to think that the power of the Holy Spirit is like a product that can be bought and sold. The Spirit’s work is a gift of God that is freely given on the basis of faith, and faith alone. He has given us His Spirit to accomplish His purposes, not ours. The Spirit cannot be bought or bargained for.

Thank You, Lord, for the gift of Your Spirit. —Mart De Haan

Holy Spirit, all divine,
Dwell within this heart of mine;
Cast down every idol throne,
Reign supreme and reign alone. —Reed

We don’t need more of the Spirit; the Spirit needs more of us.

Today's FEEBLE

YOKE :

The other day my wife and I took off to do a little window-shopping.
I didn't care that much for the merchandise in the windows, but every now and again, a female sales clerk would catch my eye.

My wife caught me at it.  "You're like a kid in a candy store!"

"Yeah, well, since I'm married to you, I'm like a kid with diabetes in a candy store."

Good Morning troops!! Good Morning everyone! Here is today's humor attempt!

A Washington think tank has announced a breakthrough in the search for a pattern in US military activities since World War II that might predict what the future missions of the US will be in the post-Cold War world.

"We think they are spelling out a message," explained an unnamed spokesperson. "Just look at the places where the US has fought: Korea, Vietnam, Libya, Iraq, Iran, El Salvador, Grenada, Nicaragua and Somalia.

If you rearrange the first letters of those countries, it spells 'ELVIS _S KING.' We just need to find another 'I' country to complete the message."

Who's next, Italy, India, Ireland, Indonesia . . . ?

NOTE FROM MINOR: They forgot about Afghanistan (sp?). The real message is ELVIS _AS KING. We just need a W. Who's it gonna be: the West Bank, Western Sahara, West Virginia...
