FReeper Suggestions To The RNC War Room Monitors: Opinions, Questions, and Advertising Ideas From Your Base

Since reading the post the other night which mentioned that the RNC staffs a 24/7 War Room to monitor media and internet traffic for new ways to define the opposition, I thought that there should be a thread where we can offer constructive ideas to help in the effort. By using a single thread for this, we can save the monitors some time - if you have an idea that would help President Bush or any of the other Republicans, please post it here. Likewise, if you are replying to a different thread with an idea, please link it to this thread as well.

This may seen like a small thing but when President bush has a rally he needs to let the people yell longer USA and 4 more years because when President is done with speech the Media cuts him off. And if the USA and 4 more years is in the middle of his speeches they can not cut it off. I've seen this and bet many of you have to. They may not show the people but they can not stop the sounds.

one of them signed by Lehman.

It's not that conclusive. Yet it does point out the oddity of all this. And I don't see people who have the Silver or Bronze Star on the web posting TWO documents spaced almost a decade apart as citation for supposedly the same medal. They just have the one. And I don't even see the two like a Hyland/Zumwalt versions on other sites. That's just from Kerry. Maybe there's a good explanation. Maybe Kerry just has a whole bunch of medals we didn't know about?

I'd sure like to know. Is Kerry afraid that it might come out that he awarded himself medals? or what? or how many? It could be anything. But something certainly seems wrong in Kerry's past record.

My suggestions:
1 Stop using the Constitution as tiolet paper. That is most fundamental. The Rats do it; you elitist Pubbies have been emulating them for far too long.
2 Tied in with that, stop spending MY money like a bunch of drunken sailors. You've been spending FAR MORE than even Billy Bentpecker and it's PAST time to stop.
3 Start getting rid of unconstitutional laws. Start with over 20,000 bogus victim disarmament "laws.' Homeland security starts with a well-armed, well-trained populace which carries EVERYWHERE.
4 Start dismantling the nanny-state/welfare state. Just make it go away and return the savings to the taxpayers.
5 A reiteration: CLOSE THE FREAKING BORDERS. Get rid of the ILLEGALS in this country. I don't care WHO comes to visit or even LIVE in my country, as long as they come in through the front door. When they try to sneak in, they are no better than common burglars and should be dealt with in the same manner, should they survive their encounters with an aroused and irate citizenry.
6 STOP IGNORING YOUR BASE. You continue to do so at the peril of becoming just another One Term Bush. Should you ignore the above, as I have no doubt you will, I will not vote for Kerry, but I will likewise NOT VOTE FOR YOU. Many, perhaps sufficient to deny your reelection, of us will sit on our hands in November if you continue to treat us like the slightly mad aunt you keep locked up in the attic.

OK, here is one of the ideas that has been spinning around in my mind: It is a commercial, using soundbites.

The soundbites would be alternating: Kerry voicing a policy or an opinion, then voicing the opposite policy or opinion. Then the President voicing a policy or opinion, then another occasion where he cites the SAME policy or opinion. Squeeze as many of these contrasts as you can into the 30-second, or whatever time frame it is, commercial. End with a voice over: "President George W. Bush, steady leadership in times of change."

This is clear, non-negative, honest campaigning. No spin, no nonsense, just both candidates, telling the world where they are at.

Here is another idea I have had for our party, borne of the frustration we experience, on a daily basis, due to media bias.

We take out full page ads, once a week, that address truth. We take these ads out in papers that have the highest, or most widespread, distribution, as well as in major papers (the Sunday ones, not everybody reads the dailies) in swing states.

The ads would feature the NO SPIN version of all major news developments of the week. If small caches of WMD's were discovered, and the media ignored it, we print a blurb of the details. If something positive happens in Iraq, but the media tries to bury it, we put it in the ad. Whatever has been hidden by leftists, would be brought out in bold black and white, in eye-catching layout, and each week, there would be a catchline, prominently featured, which explains, in a pithy way, that this page is where you will find out everything your paper/local news didn't tell you.

People (most of them, anyway) like to be educated, know the whole story, and feel like they have the tools to make educated decisions. These ads would be empowering to people who have an inherent distrust of the mainstream media. The ads should *encourage* people to get on their internet, and look up blogs and online websites regarding any issue that sparks their interest (in other words, don't just take our word for it, find out for yourself!).

Another idea for a commercial:

This one would feature "values". We have put out one commercial (and it was good!), but we haven't educated the US enough on just how divergent the Dem candidates' true "values" are from those of us who are the mainstream middle class. So, in the most straightforward, honest, non-negative way possible, we need to show America what the Dem candidates stand for, vs. the Bush/Cheney ticket. Maybe something like this:
(soundtrack - "Born in the USA" by Bruce Springsteen)
Onscreen: Photos of Kerry/Ewards, maybe onstage with Whoopi Goldberg, with Jerry Springer at the DNC convention, etc., interspersed with boldface type stating their senate votes: against DOMA, against troop funding, for gas tax, for partial birth abortion, for tax loopholes for Heinz Corp., against parental notification for abortions, etc.

followed by a switch to
(soundtrack "Proud to Be an American" by Lee Greenwood)
and pictures of the President, in flightsuit, comforting victims' families, with John McCain, addressing the troops, at the ranch in Crawford, with Tony Blair, with Pope John Paul II, etc., with boldface type reminding Americans of all that the President has done - tax cuts, Patriot Act, caught Saddam, strengthened economy, ousted the Taliban, No Child Left Behind, increased spending for troops and for veterans, signed ban on partial birth abortion, created Homeland Security, etc.

Ending voiceover: "President George W. Bush values life and liberty, and is working every day to protect and improve yours."

This one would feature "values".

It may only seem like rhetoric. But as with Reagan - you have to mean it. It can't just be words. It has to mean something. America's best days are still ahead.

You're not serious.

Assign groups to make inquiries as to making sure that military absentee ballots are being sent out before the legal deadline. Make sure that all county election commissions are aware that military ballots may not be postmarked but that is not a reason for disqualifying them. Let them know that the crap that al gwhore tried to pull in Floricuh in 2000 will be met with federal lawsuits in all 3500 counties if necessary to prevent the Rats from illegally disenfranchizing the military vote.

"Born in the USA"

No, I really am serious. I am thinking of how the words to that song are very pessimistic and negative "end up like a dog that's been beat too much, til you spend half your life just coverin' up", "fighting off in the Vietnam, I'm still here, he's all gone...". It is not a pro-America, flag-waving, pride filled song. Its a complaining one, and reminds me of Kerry. I think the grittiness would go well with the Dem candidates and their patter. But, that's just MHO, I am sure someone can come up with another good tune, it just needs to be catchy.

Here's your chance to get your great ideas

FINE! GREAT! you wanna know?

The media continues to report that the Reagan "family" is in favor of stem cell research, when the truth is that two members of the family have been long time foes of this process of manufacturing human beings – my dad, Ronald Reagan during his lifetime, and I. HERE

GET . . THE . . . GUY . . . . ON . . . . PRIME TIME . . . at the C O N V E N T I O N !

Do I seem like I'm shouting, btw?

I AM! Let Michael Reagan speak. You know, I know, EVERYONE knows, that the late President Reagan would prefer it, and on this very issue. He's not here to speak. Michael Reagan is. Do we all get this?

To the fine staff of the War Room:

It now appears that the Democrats have finally been caught wtih their hands in the cookie jar in ways far worse than Watergate. DON'T LET THEM GET AWAY WITH IT!!!! This is the best opportunity there has ever been to completely destroy the Democrats as a national political party.

Please, Berger is an employee of Kerry. He was no doubt working under orders of his old boss, Clinton. Now there is undeniable proof that the Dems are crooks, willing to do whatever it takes to destroy the president's credibility and regain power. It is essential that ads come out about this incident ASAP - and these ads should paint the Dems with a broad brush of criminal behavior. Just remember what the left did with Watergate. You can't lose on this issue!! "The Vast Right Wing Conspiracy" was right all along - the left are crooks - and communist ones at that.

1. Go over your speeches like Reagan did, for emphasis and grammar. I spent an hour on one sentence in a speech of yours last week, and finally figured out what was wrong, both the emphasis, the grammar, and the pauses. Don't worry about the rhyming, but about the meaning. Put content in, even if it doesn't rhyme. If it does rhyme, emphasize the meaning, not the rhyme. Don't pause so much--people don't like waiting for the end of a sentence. Speak more quickly. People are listening, so double your content. Have your speechwriters work with you on every sentence. Be in the moment, not nervous as to what you're saying. Get older, wiser speechwriters who can put better content into the words.
2. To the Press: stop telling the Dems what they're doing wrong. Don't do the same things to them they do to us. Don't raise your voice. Don't attack the person rather than the issue. If it's offensive when they say mean stuff to us, why do it back to them?
3. Instead of preaching to the choir, we all need to be out teaching what Republicanism means, and registering the vote.
4. Have commercials on the platform differences. Don't talk down; make it intellectually deep. Why are we a better party?
5. Don't alienate entire groups, such as 'trial lawyers' being bad. Pick the bad things THIS trial lawyer has done.
6. Don't misquote Kerry/Edwards. Quote from official documents. Show his beliefs from 'on the record' quotes.
7. We've seen the same commercial 10 times. If running commercials that often, have different ones, like the Geicko one.
8. Don't try to convince people under $40K that the economy's good. It may be on paper, but after taxes and expenses, its not. Explain, teach, always focusing that it is not the government's responsibility.
9. Teach principles. Equity--why expect the government to give more than you're putting in? Honesty--we are a society of law, but that means we need every person to stop lying in court, stop making frivolous lawsuits. We need to be honest. Lying is wrong. (Think of how the courts could be changed if people would stop lying!)
10. Teach that attacking the presidency is not the answer if/when we are attacked by terrorists. We need to work together, as in WWII, an entire nation working together.
11. Update your own understanding of issues constantly. Have specialists, PH.Ds, professors, explain to you the details, the logic, so that you have more avenues from which to handle objections. If you talk over people's heads it challenges them to think and listen harder!
12. Get more reps in Congress!
13. Move the office, so to speak, to Crawford, for your vacation, instead of calling it a vacation.
14. Downsize--Save millions of dollars by changing the convention to a different location, make it an online conference call!
15. I agree on having commercials showing the Iraquis who do appreciate our guys. And keep emphasizing what Saddam did wrong, and how we rescued.
16. Don't slant anything. If it's not true, it will be found out. Truth is on our side to start with.'
17. Show the 3D sonogram of the infant in the womb moving around at 12 instead of 16 weeks now.
18. Go to good Christian sources for research on moral issues such as stem cell research. Not just fundamentalist types, but those critical thinkers who have spent years handling objections and answers with facts, not just 'faith.' I've been both, and there's more fruit in conversations when I can explain why what I am claiming is true.
19. Have a logic professor examine the liberal claims. Have commercials showing how absurd their thinking can be. Instead of being "fired", every fallacy they speak, the professor explains why and says "You flunk!"
20. Stay away from the intelligence committee guys, anyone who will use anything you say against you. And WHY is so much information about our military and plans sooooooooo public??? I have learned where the most vulnerable areas of America are, how to do everything needed for terrorism, just by watching the TV. I know where are troops are and how many and where we have planned security and where we don't.
21. Keep Cheney! Ask him what would make him feel like he's not just staying on because you want him to stay...What would make him feel most useful and fulfilled? Use his skills like a dual President! Start promoting Condi for Prez in 2008! Keep Rumsfeld! Do anything to make Colin Powell happy with you and his service again.
22. Have Nancy be the one to come out to formally introduce you at the convention. Can you imagine the ovation she would get??! I think it would be a great gift to her!
ummmm...I guess that's all for now!

I suggest a commercial focusing on that photo of Kerry with his comrades in arms. The camera zooms in one them - one by one - and they speak out on why they think he is unfit to be commander in chief. Would illustrate that only two of the large group support him!!! And that the majority of those who knew him in Viet Nam know he is awful!!!!

I want the RNC to confirm that James A Rassmann (the man whose life Kerry supposedly saved) ever was a registered Republican.

I note that both he and his wife have each contributed $1,000 to Kerry on March 20, 2004. Prior to that, nada to any Pubbie!
