They do have barf bags, thanks. And I just got confirmation from my mom that no, they do not serve meals on Southwest flights. So if it's food related, it's something one of the passengers brought on-board.

Plus this:

http://www.independenttraveler.com/resources/article.cfm?AID=467&category=13

Southwest
"If your total flight itinerary includes a series of flights that each are less than two hours in duration, you will be served peanuts/pretzels on each flight segment. If your flight itinerary includes any nonstop flight longer than two hours, you will be served a packaged snack on that flight segment." The airline does not serve sandwiches or meals, however, you may bring something to eat onboard; it also serves complimentary coffee, juices, and cold drinks on all flights.

Terror in the Skies Again (Absolutely Positive MUST-READ)

They are right. It is a MUST READ. Go to the link of the original article, it's several pages, read every word. It's a true recent story -- terrorists may have been doing practice runs.

This story showed up recently. It would appear that the airlines security are still being tested. The actual article is quite long, but worth the read.

Well, that sends a chilling message to your employees.

Miss your target in ONE out of 32 consecutive quarters, and you're gone?

That's not Southwest's style, PAR35.

No, I take him at his word that he left for personal reasons. Parker had just negotiated a tough contract with the Flight Attendants, and, even with Kelleher involved, the flight attendants got most of what they wanted.

Some guys are not cut out to deal with organized labor.

Theoretically, it could be food related, if someone tampered with the snacks.

Who is supplying the food?

Fumes eminating from the food? I didn't know my mother-in-law had taken a job cooking for the airline.

Some stories say fumes, but apparently there have been some stories saying it's the food.

I am personally more ready to believe the fumes.

But if it's the food, it can't be some accidentally spoiled food, since they only serve peanuts -- so if it's the food, it has to be because of tampering.

Maybe they ate the spoiled food at the airport they departed from, before they boarded the plane.

Ever since that wedding was bombed at the Syrian border in Iraq, those musicians have been looking elsewhere for their gigs. I hear they're looking for a new singer, too.

Once in a while I take SW to Vegas for a day. And you are right. No food for only 300 mi.

I would suggest hot tacos and old beer pharts as a start for the investigation:) And a lack of showers on the plane. LOL! I fly out of Burbank and it's fun!

If it was fumes, could the oxygen masks have offered any protection?

(I haven't finished the thread yet, so if this has already been addressed, just slap me.)

Can someon sum-up in maybe one short paragraph the gist of that article, that some of us might better judge if it is worth reading?

I've looked at that article a few times, and each time I found it tedious and boring, so I soon gave it up.
