Camp Delta Detainees Read 'Rights' at Gitmo (Al Qaeda Tears up Miranda papers, Spits at Guards)
Sky News/FOX England ^ | 7/15/04 | wire report

Pictures have been released showing inmates at Camp Delta in Guantanamo Bay being told their 'rights.'

Detainees were told they could make an appeal to a military panel to end their imprisonment. The US Supreme Court has already said that they can appeal to America's civil courts as well.

'In several instances, detainees chose to ignore the reading, chose to tear up the paper that had been given to them with the information on it,' Deputy Comissioner Brian Janke said.

Some 15 people at Guantanamo Bay have been identified as potential defendants for military tribunals.

But so far only 4 have been charged.

None are specifically accused of killing Americans but they could face life in prision if convicted, the Pentagon said.

Give these scum the same rights that were "given" to the people that were massacred on 9/11.

'And in several cases, we've had detainees spit at linguists or officers realying the message,' Janklow said.

The linguists or officers involved should have ripped their lips off, so they couldn't spit on anyone else.

Or perhaps they should accidentally 'drop' their meal trays for the next three weeks and have them start eating off the prayer area of the cell floor.

Didn't we already sort of do that? I do like the part of keeping the Al Qaeda in open fencing with no AC, just like Sheriff in Maricopa County, AZ Joe Arpaio.

Huh, the Liberals hate Sheriff Arpaio with a passion. Maricopa County had the lowest residivism rate in the nation while I was there, though :-)

Typically, the press gets the legal story wrong. The Supreme Court did NOT say that all detainees would have access to "American civil courts." Instead, it said they should have access to a "fair tribunal."

In short, the military has taken the hint and is giving these detainees a hearing before a military tribunal on whether they should be detained further. These hearings are held in secret, and they are sufficient to satisfy the Court, per the unanimous Quirin case in 1942.

An able reporter would have recognized that, and reported it. But there are damned few able reporters in the world today.

I want to see film coverage as big as the Abu Gharib scandal got of these scum tossing the PC Compassion right back in our faces.

After that I'll spring for a Texas Necktie Party.

"SIGH!"

We are CLEARLY DEALING WITH "Subhuman Scum"--Creatures who regard Murdering an Intelligent Person as a "Right!"

By ALL CIVILIZED STANDARDS, these "Creatures" are "Varmints!!"--They Murder Intelligent Creatures with no more Thought than they "Kill a Cockroach!!"

These "Detainees" are NOT "Human Beings;"--They are "VARMINTS!!"

SO,--I AGREE!!--!!

Let's "Release Them!!"

At 40,000' over the "Capitals of their Countrys"

Perhaps it's Time for us to "Redefine" the "Rain of Terror!!"

I Know;--we're STILL "Too Civilized" to understand the "Depths of Barbarity" we Face!!

AT Some Point,--we will be FORCED to Choose, "Survival over Civility!!"--& If We Choose "Wrong," WE, (The BEST "Human Culture" has Produced in several Millenia) will Disappear.

Interesting Times.

if you recall the threads when this decision came down, there are plenty of freepers who agree with this decision, and are willing to turn over more aspects of the war on terror to the judiciary, the most corrupt branch of our government - filled with unaccountable lifetime appointed liberal judges.

I would simply put each one of them in a different maximum security prison and let the inmates exact normal prison justice.
