MICHAEL Moore messed with the wrong rocker when he charged that The Who's Pete Townshend refused to allow his classic hit "Won't Get Fooled Again" to be used in "Fahrenheit 9/11." Biting back on his Web site, Townshend said the reason the song wasn't used was not because he was for the war in Iraq (which he admits he was), but because he doesn't trust Moore's accuracy in reporting and regards Moore as a bully. "When first approached, I knew nothing about the content of his film 'Fahrenheit 9/11,' " Townshend writes. "I had not really been convinced by 'Bowling for Columbine,' and had been worried about its accuracy . . . Once I had an idea what the film was about, I was 90 percent certain my song was not right for them."[snip]
WE HEAR . . .

. . THAT Teresa Heinz Kerry surprised and worried some of the 1,000 guests at Friday morning's Women for Kerry breakfast when she looked out at the crowd and said, "We had better get you women some birth control, there are so many of you here!" Yikes.

"We had better get you women some birth control, there are so many of you here!" Yikes.
That's the butler's back ....making himself useful.
i concur... if one had to be born on any day, that one is ideal... spoken from personal experience...

Bump!
I used to think that, but there are only two times Democrats surprise me. One is when I think, "they can't sink any lower", and the other is when I think, "surely the American people aren't stupid enough to believe that." There are some watershed events that completely change your perception in life. When Al Gore got a huge bump in the polls out of swallowing Tipper's tongue during the last DNC convention, I started seriously worrying about the US. BTW, I teach college, and less than 2% of my students can tell you what the fourth amendment to the Constitution says. About 60% can tell you both numbers Michael Jordan wore (at least they could three years ago. Jordan's old news now).
Regarding the Theresa snip..it really surprises me she hasnt polished her look. I find her appearance "messy". Her hair is always in her face and looks dry and slightly frizzy and in need of a trim. Her clothes, while I'm sure expensive, look rumpled. Her eyebrows are too harsh and need to be defined and her eyes should be played up as they are very expressive but not noticed because of all of the hair and eyebrows going on. Theresa needs a SERIOUS makeover.
...she acts like a drunk.
&&
I have noted more than once that she often looks hammered.
With a penchant for cruising kiddie web sites...
And doesn't she always look annoyed as hell whenever John Kerry touches her?
&&
I'll bet she was glad when they brought in Edwards, the airline stewardess, so Kerry would have someone else to be the object of his affections.
isn't Pete Townsend the guy who was charged with child pornography?
Moore would do wise to consider "We decide, and the shotgun sings its song".
Charged but not convicted. From what I remember he was arrested because he had visited child pornography sites on the web. His defense was that he was "researching" pornography for some reason or another.
Yea, researching, that's the ticket!
That is so outstanding! Puts it in perspective when you see the victims....
I thought he got into trouble with kiddie porn?
I think Townsend also said he was molested as a kid, which often leads to problems later in life.
Too bad he didn't give Moore permission, then the headline could have read:
The Who Sells Out
and everything would have come full circle.
If I remember correctly, he was completely exonerated. I think he was working on some sort of an anti-abuse project because he had been abused as a youngster.</p>
Not for the war but intelligent enough to look into this Moore guy and see him for what he was and make an indepedent decision regarding allowing the song's use. Good for Pete, even if I'm not a Who fan.
She's as goofy as the rodent who lives in the outside bathroom
Wouldn't you be annoyed as hell if he were to touch you?!
And the charges were dropped.
