A mysterious power failure at Logan Airport that delayed dozens of flights for more than five hours has still not been explained – six days later.

Airport officials insist airline security was not compromised during the blackout Monday at Logan International's Terminal E, but backup electrical systems failed to kick in as they are programmed under such circumstances.

Any attack on the US now will be seen by all America as an attempt to influence the election for Kerry, given the example of Spain. And of course, that's just what it would be.

If/when we are attacked, the backlash would/will be huge, and President Bush would/will be elected by an enormous landslide. I have no idea if terrorists are taking this into account or not, but there is no way that any attack will not mobilize a far worse and far greater response than they can deal with, world-wide.

It does seem that our military is getting into position for something enormous. I'm so impatient with all news that ignores the WOT ...thanks for the threads, I haven't been able to keep up for most of them, but I have the same impression others here do.

How to bake a cake:

When uranium ore comes out of the mine, it actually contains fairly little of the precious radioactive element. Though some mines in Canada, the world's leading uranium producer, are now yielding ore that contains 20 percent uranium, lower purity levels are more typical. Ore that contains less than 1 percent uranium is not unusual.

The milling process gets rid of the useless minerals that dominate the ore. First, raw ore is passed through a series of industrial-sized crushers and grinders. The resulting "pulped" ore is then bathed in sulphuric acid, a process which leaches out the uranium. After some drying and filtering, the end product is yellowcake: a coarse, oxidized powder that is often yellow in color but can also have a red or gray tint, depending on the number and type of impurities that may remain. Ideally, a drum of yellowcake should wind up looking something like this.

Yellowcake is a first step toward enriched uranium, but it's a long way from being weapons-grade. The powder must still be converted into uranium hexafluoride before it can be enriched, the process that makes the sort of uranium used by nuclear power plants and bomb-makers alike. Because UF6 can be easily turned into a gas, it is ideal for enrichment, which must be done in a gaseous state.

I don't know that Nuetrons were specifically banned I just remember that Jimmy "The Peanut Man" voluntarily had our supplies disassembled. To my understanding, we were the only folks in possession of the technology and it was a top secret weapon until President Carter announced his order. Dr Teller is the guy who created the weapon. My father in law, knew Teller. As a nuclear physiscist himself, he once told me that the neutron was the PERFECT weapon. You can't hide from it's killing force by burrowing underground like you could hide from gamma rays. A couple of feet of packed dirt will stop gamma rays. Neutron radiation will go completely through the earth. But it would lose it's killing power just before it got to the earth's core, according to pop. Still, way more than enough for even the deepest bunker or mountain cave.

An airburst from a neutron weapon would simply vaporize all living tissue (animal and human) but leave structures untouched. Radiation would almost totally disappear within three days. So if we used such an array on Mecca and Medina, they'd be literal ghost towns when our guys moved in and raised "Old Glory" in perfect safety.

DR Congo uranium mine collapses

Part of a uranium mine has collapsed in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, killing at least nine people.

The Shinkolobwe mine supplied the uranium in the bombs which the United States dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki to end World War II.

It was officially closed earlier this year but people still mine there for cobalt, used in mobile phones.

this is exactly right, DC, and I brought the image up again (post #3085, THREAD 12) based on a report by John Loftus (who should be taken with a grain of salt) last friday that said khadafi was going to be giving some report in septemeber that would lay saddams nuclear programs wide open. We have kaddafi's nuclear stuff here and saddams nuclear stuff here, I belive all nuclear sources have a particular signature and we may be connecting dots at this very moment.

The reason I give this any credence is I've seen reports elsewhere that saddam's nuclear program was being developed in Libya, Libya provided the location, saddam provided the money and scientists, over 400 of them.

Kadaffi being rumored to be giving a report about nukes in New York in September, well, I think you can see why that brought that image back to mind....
