HOMELAND INSECURITY

Backup electrical systems failed to kick in

A mysterious power failure at Logan Airport that delayed dozens of flights for more than five hours has still not been explained – six days later.

Airport officials insist airline security was not compromised during the blackout Monday at Logan International's Terminal E, but backup electrical systems failed to kick in as they are programmed under such circumstances.

I think the technology has hit new levels of sophistication. Also remember that these are old devices and probably not well shielded. They would have escaped detection by being well and deeply buried all these years. Once brought to the surface, the firing mechanisms and wiring would have to be reserviced and tested to make sure they'll fire on command. I think this would be some form of circuit test, similar to the way we tested Claymore Mine firing devices.

I think we're speaking of the so called missing suitcase nukes from the "cold war." Alledgedly prepositioned by Sov agents for use in the opening fusillades of WWIII. Later disavowed by the Russian gov't at the end of the era of the USSR and KGB activities.

Maybe you will know the answer to this: do these suitcase nukes have to be maintained as well as other nukes? How old would these be now? I'm not betting against a lot of damage from them, but are they going to explode as they were supposed to?

Hoping the islamonazis have some duds on their hands...

And I remember hearing recently, during the JFK administration, the Russian embassy in DC apparently had a bomb in that building, put together right there. (As told to Hugh Sidey by JFK himself.)

That is the 2 that I have seen listed.

There may be one more in Texas in the last couple days.

My first thought on your train is "Bush's Bus".

Under the train is the word "ogod" that is a live link to a photo and it shows a pair of levis hanging, what looks to me like bullets in a carrier, with some missing and a big bag or a back pack.

and the chrome leg of a table, that is too big to be a table leg and makes me think of a motorcycle pipe.

Remember with these eyes, I may see strangely.

The ham radio swap meet is held the first Saturday of each month at the Santee drive-in. Lots of electronics stuff for hams and surplus computer stuff too. The surplus people bring large rental trucks into the area and set it out. It would be exceptionally easy to use that swap meet as a meeting point to distribute "interesting" stuff.

While I lived in San Diego, my wife and I patronized the ham radio swap meets in Oceanside, at San Diego stadium and the Santee swapmeet on a regular basis.

I was in Los Alamos over the weekend. I didn't steal those disks. I swear!.

Seriously, the security was extremely tight. Don't know how anyone could get in there.....unless they were already there.

After seeing how close the forest fires of last year came to the labs, I'm suprised it is still extant.

One would really have to have a reason to go there to get there. I hate windy mountain roads, I have a morbid fear of heights, and that is what I experienced on the trip to the labs. Very interesting trip.

Makes sense, though I suspect that the nukes are and have been near critical targets for a long time.
