Backup electrical systems failed to kick in
A mysterious power failure at Logan Airport that delayed dozens of flights for more than five hours has still not been explained six days later.
Airport officials insist airline security was not compromised during the blackout Monday at Logan International's Terminal E, but backup electrical systems failed to kick in as they are programmed under such circumstances.

Abu Nidal Organization - international (used the name of Black September since 1974)
Abu Nidal Organization
pl:Organizacja Abu Nidala Created by a split from the Fatah in 1974, the Abu Nidal Organization (officially named Fatah - the Revolutionary Council) is an international organization named for its founder Abu Nidal. The group is also known as the Arab Revolutionary Brigades, Black September and the Revolutionary Organization of Socialist Muslims. It has an estimated members of several hundred.
It has carried out terrorist attacks in 20 countries, killing or injuring almost 900 persons. Targets include the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Israel, moderate Palestinians, the PLO, and various Arab countries. Major attacks included the Rome and Vienna airports in December 1985, the Neve Shalom synagogue in Istanbul and the Pan Am Flight 73 hijacking in Karachi in September 1986, and the City of Poros day-excursion ship attack in Greece in July 1988. Suspected of assassinating PLO deputy chief Abu Iyad and PLO security chief Abu Hul in Tunis in January 1991. ANO assassinated a Jordanian diplomat in Lebanon in January 1994 and has been linked to the killing of the PLO representative there. The group has not attacked Western targets since the late 1980s.
The group maintained a presence in Iraq and Lebanon, its operations in Libya and Egypt were stopped by local authorities in 1999. The choking of funding from Middle Eastern governments caused the organization to slip away in obscurity.
The United States has claimed the group has received funding from the governments of Iraq, Libya, and (until 1987) Syria.

This looks like a mish mash of several of the emails word for word that EOM has sent to the personal email address of someone from the TB boards.
It is not something she "intercepted" unless you call ripping off a post from another board from another user as "intercepting"

GG2.NET NEWS [13/07/2004] A WOMAN suicide bomber who set off a blast that killed herself and four policemen in Colombo may have been wearing a "bra bomb", a police investigator said today. The device exploded as the attacker, who appeared to be in her late twenties, was being searched by two women constables at a police station after being detained by guards of a government minister.
The two constables who escaped with injuries have said the woman had shown them her bare midriff to indicate she was not wearing an explosives-filled jacket usually worn by suicide bombers, inspector Palitha Siriwardena said.
"This points to the possibility that she was wearing a bra that had explosives in it," said Siriwardena, who is the chief inspector of the Kollupitiya police station where the blast occurred.
It would be the first case of its kind encountered by Sri Lankan police. Forensic experts were yet to make a formal report on the bombing but police said they were for the time being going on the basis that it was a bra bomb that could have been wired to go off when tampered with.
Usually suicide bomb jackets have a manual detonating device that would come down almost to waist level. No such detonating device was found on the woman who carried out the bombing last Wednesday, police said.
Tiger rebels denied involvement in the suicide bombing which the government said was intended for Hindu Religious Affairs Minister Douglas Devananda, a staunch opponent of the Tamil Tigers. The US and other diplomats here said despite the denials, the attack bore the hallmarks of the Tamil Tigers, who earlier this month commemorated 241 suicide bombers killed since 1987. Link to Article

Tim Grace 07/12/2004 CENTRAL FALLS -- After threatening a stranger with a gun in a McDonalds parking lot Sunday, police say, a man driving a white box truck led a string of patrol cars on a wild chase along Route 295 before disappearing into the night.
Officer Nelson Carreiro reported he was on duty at the corner of Broad and Cross streets when, at about 2:30 a.m., a man who gave the name Edward Bourgault approached him.
Bourgault told police hed stopped at the Broad Street McDonalds to use the bathroom when a man wearing an FBI T-shirt with a pistol sticking in his waistband walked up to him and said, "What do you got? "Get up against the wall."
Bourgault said he ran the few steps back to his car, got in and tried to pull away when his assailant, driving a white box truck with the words "air conditioning and plumbing" printed on the sides, tried to ram him.
Bourgault managed to drive out of the parking lot unharmed and the man in the truck drove away. Bourgault described his assailant as a white male with brown hair, about 5 feet, 9 inches tall, in his mid-30s. Later that night, Carreiro reportedly potted a white truck turning on to Broad from High Street.
A young woman was driving and a man matching the description of Bourgaults attacker was riding in the passenger seat, police say. Carreiro reported the woman hit the gas when he tried to pull the truck over, heading north on Broad into Cumberland. She took the Mendon Road on-ramp to 295 and, with police from Central Falls and Cumberland trailing behind, sped north to the Route 1 off-ramp. Police called off the chase rather than risk pursuit through city streets. A short time later, Seekonk police reported the truck had been found abandoned in a drainage ditch.
Evidence found in the truck suggested Jessica Blazek, 18, had been the driver, police said. Police did not release Blazeks address Sunday. The truck was reportedly registered to Edward Sawyer, 33, of 3 Hidden Lane Road, Manville, Mass. Police said they tried to contact Sawyer and Blazek Sunday without success. A man who identified himself as Sawyers stepfather returned a reporters call Sunday evening. He said he and his family had just returned from a vacation and he did not know where his stepson might be. The man said he had not been contacted by police.

Europe's Islamist Alliance

When the US-led coalition invaded Iraq in March 2003, few would have imagined that the move might lead to the formation of an alliance between the radical Left and hard-line Islamists in Western Europe. But this is precisely what happened.
In this month's election for a new European Parliament, voters in several European Union countries, notably France and Britain, are offered common lists of Islamist and leftist candidates, often hidden under bland labels.
Europe's moribund extreme Left has found a new lease on life thanks to hundreds of young Muslim militants recruited from the poor suburbs of Paris and the Islamic ghettos of northern England.
The Islamist groups, for their part, are learning many tricks from the Left about how to exploit the inevitable weaknesses of an open society.

Police kept an eye on the mosque on Monday Authorities raided the Islamic school of a Morccan cultural association in Frankfurt on Sunday, searching for violent and degrading videos, including one allegedly showing a person being decapitated.
Police and officials from Frankfurt's office of municipal authority raided a Moroccan school for Koran studies near the city's downtown train station in search of extremist propaganda used for inciting children to hatred. According to the state prosecutor's office on Monday, the officials were looking for material such as videos, DVD's and publications which showed violent and degrading images.....
A spokeswoman for the prosecutor's office in Frankfurt told German public television that there were "indications that the school was calling for a holy war against non-believers and that violent images were used to illustrate the war."
In the aftermath of Sept. 11, and the growing presence of Islamic terrorist activities in Europe, many authorities are concerned that such schools could be the breeding ground for fundamentalist Islam and extremist ideas. Only recently, a Muslim school in Bonn financed by the Saudi Arabian government was forced to open its doors to government supervision after similar concerns came to the attention of authorities who threatened to completely shut the school down.........
