One of John Edwards' claims to fame in becoming such a wealthy trial lawyer was his ability to "channel", purportedly bringing his victims directly into touch with the juries he was trying to sway in big $$$ class action lawsuits. Channeling, of course, is a new-age phenom akin to spiritual mediums and the like, in which the newly nominated VP candidate, like the legacy of the legendary Pagan John Edwards, serves as an empty vessel for spirits of the dead to communicate with those of us in this material world.
Imagine how beneficial that will be when he debates Dick Cheney - all of a sudden ...
boing!
"What's that? Who's there?"
From all outward appearances John Edwards appears to be in deep thought, possibly even momentary transcendental meditation, the kind of look Hanoi John Kerry says he's observed many times when he's "seen John Edwards thinking".
With the camera focused intently on Brit Hume preparing to ask Vice President Dick Cheney a question, we might never know that, in the meanwhile, John Edwards is tuning in to some external vibrations!
"It's the ghost of Democratic vice presidential nominees of the past. I've got Mondale here and Lloyd Bentsen too! Don't forget to remind 'em how you knew Jack Kennedy, he's channelled to you many times, you know the schtick. Plus Mondull still thinks you should tell them the truth about raising their taxes but did admit any good lawyer knows that lying will always work any way"
HIS EXPERIENCE AND BRAIN!
Goodnight Johnny Edwards!
Between Edward's "channeling" and Willie's "Parallel Lives,"--the psychobabble is too much. Prozac, anyone?
I hear he's good at it.
Well, Cheney should discreetly carry in his pocket a clove of garlic and maybe a small crucifix. Then at his first attempt at channeling during the debate Edwards would come crashing down with Deaniac scream and a cloud of sulfurous stench. On live TV it will be hugely entertaining.
Chanelling to a ambulance chaser's jury and trying the same on a guy like Cheney will be two very different events LOL
Cheney will change his "Channel". Little John will need to change his drawers afterwards.
I realize that Cheney will never win the debate scored on the People Magazine scale (hair, sex appeal, etc.) - but he's going to run like a white hot buzz saw through butter by any non-frivolous measure. Edwards is a lightweight - that is the central error of Kerry's choice - and the contrast between Cheney's innate gravitas and Edwards in the VP debate will be sweet.
Tears.
What? No tin foil alert? LOL!
I hope this is a joke.
Both Kerry and Edwards will suffer a harsh loss in the debates. This administration has shown a proven track record of focus; focus like a laser beam. Kerry out of the chute has shown flip flop. Edwards is now coming to full stage and he's not gonna fair well either.
Try as they may, the democratic ticket cannot deflect one thing, we are electing a man to the Presidency. As of current, Kerry has already demonstrated he is not a man of his own convictions (witness abortion). I'm sure someone can point out a fault in Bush, but by and large, he's done what he said he would do. And he has handled many things that were never disclosed (China and our EP-3, 9/11, freeing two countries from radical islam; -='cuase they were dumb enough to screw with us=-) pretty damn well.
Now forgive me if I am wrong, but we have Kerry, who likes to fasion himself as a war hero AND a premier war activist, and we have Edwards, a do nothing Senator who apparently channels baby's thoughts; yet can't seem to recall an aborted fetus' cry for help. On the other end, we have Bush who, albeit, bought into the "new tone" a bit much, crushed an enemy, liberated two countries, lowered MY TAXES, churned out jobs and a recovering economy. Cheney? Please, this guy will dance circles around 95% on this board, not to mention 99.9% of all Internet attendee's.
Yeah, this choice is tough.
My opinion only....
The part about Edwards channelling from the dead in his jury trials is TRUE - read Wall St. Journal today.
I'll have to check the Wall St. Journal. If he really claims to channel, that gives me the creeps!
"Defend America
Defeat Bush"
Now, why do I find it funny? That fully defined the democrats; "Anyone but Bush"..In other words, Anything but a strategy or idea that is against my marxist own". The lemming that drove that car (by admission of his/her bumper sticker) could care less about the Dem candidates. And hence we have Kerry/Edwards. It's all about "getting that man out of office who we disagree with..."
Pathetic if you ask me.
In January the New York Times described this great moment in personal-injury law:In 1985, a 31-year-old North Carolina lawyer named John Edwards stood before a jury and channeled the words of an unborn baby girl.
Referring to an hour-by-hour record of a fetal heartbeat monitor, Mr. Edwards told the jury: "She said at 3, 'I'm fine.' She said at 4, 'I'm having a little trouble, but I'm doing O.K.' Five, she said, 'I'm having problems.' At 5:30, she said, 'I need out.' "
But the obstetrician, he argued in an artful blend of science and passion, failed to heed the call. By waiting 90 more minutes to perform a breech delivery, rather than immediately performing a Caesarean section, Mr. Edwards said, the doctor permanently damaged the girl's brain.
At the vice-presidential debate this fall, someone should ask Sen. Edwards to demonstrate this technique by channeling the words of an unborn baby about to undergo a partial-birth abortion.
I thought Vampires couldn't see their own reflections?
There are posts on the Wes Clark for President web site that they knew about this wacko-side Edwards stuff all the time and couldn't believe Kerry actually selected him to be vice president.
