My Dad needs your prayers - and a card, if you could.
After successfully battling colon cancer 4 1/2 years ago - and 3 follow up surgeries to correct problems with his colostomy - he was recently diagnosed with terminal cancer, with tumors on his spine and lung.
He started radiation treatments on one tumor but became too weak to get out of the house. We will be bringing in hospice care in a few days.
Your prayers for comfort are appreciated.
Why a card? My Dad is a collector of things. My local FReeper friends that have seen his house can attest to that. Pictures and cards are very meaningful to him. Computers and the Internet are not his cup glass of iced tea. If I printed this thread and presented it to him it wouldn't mean nearly as much as a card.
My Dad (Wilburn) is 80 years old and a widower. He served in the Pacific in WWII in the Navy Signal Corps.
Freepmail me for his address if you can send a card. I will reply as soon as I can.
Dad in the Pacific
send me the address and I'll send a card to him.
And thank both you and him for your service to our country.
God bless you and comfort you.
Thank you for your prayers.
Now, is that sweet tea or regular?
Now that you are in Texas you need to learn that *ALL* tea is sweet tea.
Thanks, your prayers are appreciated.
Thanks so very much.
Thanks for the prayers and kind words.
Thank you, Pippin.
p.s. - I still remember that time we went skating. Was that fun or what?
Prayers for you and your dad Flyer.
Please Freepmail me his address.
Please do not worry about replies right now.
bump and a prayer
My dad will be 85 in 3 months. He too is a WWII vet, and has had colon cancer. They got his in time and he has been cancer free for 5 years. Those WWII vets are a tough bunch of guys. Btw, tell your dad he looked real cute in that grass skirt. :-)
And Chicken Express makes it pretty good and cheap!! :oP
Although, I learned quickly how to make good sweet tea!
Please Freepmail me the address. My uncle is a little over 80 and was in the 101st Signal Battalion. I'm looking at pictures of him and his buddies on Leyte - they look so young.
Sorry to hear about your Dad, Flyer. Prayers are on the way. I lost my Dad a few years back, and the fact that he lived a full, happy, and meaningful life has been a consistent comfort.
Thanks for the prayers.
Mail on the way. . .
What a GREAT PHOTO! LOL! Just so American! Please thank your father for his service to our nation for moi!
And please, freepmail his address!
PRAYERS for the Lord's comfort and peace that passes understanding.
May The Lord make Himself extra, extra REAL AND PRESENT to your dad and you these trying days.
Am terrible about getting normal mail off but will try if you wish to freepmail me the address and full name.
May THE GOD OF ALL COMFORT be tangibly evident in a multitude of ways these days.
Have prayed, will pray.
BTW, I noticed in an earlier post to Humblegunner you posted your cell #.
Did you inrendt to post it in FRmail to him instead?
tell your dad he looked real cute in that grass skirt.
Ummmm. . . I'm not sure I will even tell him I posted it for all the world to see.
This one?
Cell #214C, Ellis Unit I
That's a Texas joke. The Ellis Unit is a prison.
