LOL! That is great! It's true. God forbid, if something happened to President Bush, I would be very comfortable with Cheney as President.

This is a good point to drive home at this time. In the event of a Vice President having to take over, who is better suited to the job, Dick Cheney or John Edwards.

I saw it one Foxnews Channel during my lunch break. It was one of the wittiest replies I have ever heard.
Great one for President Bush.
President Bush was in North Carolina.

Steve.
Q Mr. President --
THE PRESIDENT: Yes, speak up. I'm getting a little --
Q If I could try another Edwards question. He's being described today as charming, engaging, a nimble campaigner, a populist, and even sexy. How does he stack up against Dick Cheney?
THE PRESIDENT: Dick Cheney can be President.
Next.

LOL! The media is already in full-panic, spin control over this!
Check out Reuters latest:
Bush Raises Issue of Edwards' Experience to Be VP
RALEIGH, N.C. (Reuters) - President Bush criticized Democratic vice presidential candidate John Edwards in his own home state on Wednesday by questioning whether Edwards has sufficient experience to be a heartbeat away from the presidency.
A day after Edwards was picked by Democratic White House hopeful John Kerry as his running mate, Bush raised the experience issue when asked how Edwards stacked up against his own vice president, Dick Cheney.
"Dick Cheney can be president," Bush said briskly.
Notice that Bush was asked (not needled not hounded not pressed) and yet the big meanie responded briskly.
Of course you can see later in the article why Mean Old Mr. Bush was being nasty to America's favorite boyish orator:
The Republican president is bracing for a Kerry bounce in the polls following his choice of Edwards and the Democratic nominating convention at the end of this month.
Dead cat bounce, at best.
