Just heard on Rush,,,,,a reporter was talking with Bush, and went on and on about Edwards qualities,,,,bla bla,,,,, and then asked Bush what the difference was between Edwards & Cheney. Bush said,,,"Dick Cheney can be President!" ... lots of clapping
I don't know where the interview was,,,maybe someone can get the original transcript! It was great!
I almost burned myself making lunch when he played it. ;-)
Our local radio station in Raleigh, WPTF, is conservative in its programming line up (Rush, Hannity, Boortz as well as a local conserative host) but it's hourly news is unconscionably biased to the left. Some of this is due to the SeeBS feeds, but some of this is internally generated.
Yesterday, after the Breck Girl announcement there were breathless reports of the Bush campaign "already" attacking the commie ticket.
Today, with Bush in town for a fundraiser, they were carefully pointing out the $25000 a plate price tag, and then they "cut to a traffic report" just to make sure people new that there might be traffic tie-ups due to the president's visit (there weren't).
And this pattern is repeated day after day.
OK, rant off.
MSNBC just played the clip, both question and answer, and Carl Rochelle who was reporting on it seemed admiring in the clean delivery and simplicity of the answer.
Pray for W and Our Troops
"Yaaaawn looked a bit greyer than usual, is his cancer back??"
That remark is not worthy of this website.
kerry: "I was against the Bradly fighting vehicle, we've got better hair."
"I didn't vote to fund our troops, but we've got better hair."
"I was against almost every military acrument in the 80s, but we've got better hair."
etc etc etc
I'll use it as a tagline...
Best wishes to you. And to Kerry also, for that matter. I don't wish sickness on him - just a resounding defeat in November.
Does anyone here believe that Hillary will Eagleton/Tsongas Kerry in October with Cancer revelations?
How much validity is there to any of the health issue talk about Kerry?
Well, I did see a little black & white striped wad of
skunk fur on the highway yesterday. Was that possibly
the "hair on the road" Mr. Kerry was talking about? - Or,
did he mean "hare on the road"? I also saw a little
bunny rabbit that had met a similar fate on in a bit
closer to town.
So typical: A reporter said Edwards was being described as "charming, engaging, a nimble campaigner, a populist and even sexy," and then asked, "How does he stack up against Dick Cheney?"Bush shot back: "Dick Cheney can be president. Next?"
Kerry/Edwards: We need more hair care for America.
I havent heard much myself, they are probably keeping any health issues out of the spotlight. But I wouldnt put anything past Hillary if she thought it would provide her more power.
Somebody's asleep at the switch over at CNN. It's 2:35 here and they were still running the Bush riposte.
For your reading pleasure
I'm sure by tonight all the pundits will be slamming President Bush, saying it is a cardinal rule that the guy at the top of the ticket does not even acknowledge, much less attack, the guy at the bottom of the other ticket. This will no doubt be spun as the White House being terrified of Edwards. The good news is that the TV and radio can't play Bush's comment without first playng the reporter's question, and hopefully people will interpret it properly without the media spin.
