Moore's New Film Firing Up Voters
Some say it breaks new campaign law

Samantha Erck and Samantha Yarema could hardly contain themselves as they left the Regal Cinema on Elmwood Avenue last week.
The two Buffalo State College students had just viewed "Fahrenheit 9/11," Michael Moore's film that's chock full of complaints about the war in Iraq and other issues involving President Bush - released just in time for election season.
Their eyes flashing in the blackness of the darkened theater, the two Samanthas left no doubt that the movie had fired some new passions and sealed their votes in November.
"The media has never really told us about all this, and neither has the administration," said Erck, from Stony Brook. "Since Sept. 11, this is the only answer I've gotten, and I believe it."
Ditto for Yarema, who is from Brooklyn.
"Originally, I was not going to vote at all," she said, "but this movie told me a lot of things."
Now she says she will not only vote, but vote against Bush.
The reaction of the college students hits on only some of the controversy surrounding the summer hit and its effect on the electoral process. Taking in more than $44 million since its debut two weeks ago, the film already has played before millions of viewers and achieved blockbuster status as far as documentaries go. And it has ignited passions across the political spectrum among people who believe the film will play its own role in the election.
Boosters say it tells the real story behind the war. Detractors claim its advertisements have become an election issue.

Ping!
This is why this movie is so dangerous and like it or not, it will not go away.
Something must be done to counter this propaganda with those who don't read political journals and newspapers...those who spend most of their time on MTV and in movie houses.
When it gets out in DVD and on HBO, it will be that much worse.
Well .. This personal diatribe of Moore's is NOT A DOCUMENTARY!
A docuentary contains FACTS .. which are sorely lacking in Moore's screed.
Anyone who would believe this movie .. would drink poisoned Kool-aid.
OK so let's make sure I understand this. The Saudis run America and are especially effective in helping to steering the Administration clear of Israel's influence. Ok, got it.
Interesting that the author - who somehow neglected to find a moviegoer with a differing opinion - did not cover this movie's ability to fire up the conservative base. There are a lot of pissed off folks after this joke of a film, and they're not all Deaniacs and Kerry Krazies.
Skulls full of mush.
She'll have to move her "O.J. is INNOCENT" poster over a bit to make room for the Kerry campaign sign...
You're an idiot, as is anyone who chooses their candidate from a movie.
Hollywood is a whore. The film industry would kiss GW's rear without stop if someone paid them enough.
Where is the $$$ to run a biography on Moore? If people knew the real Moore, there would be alot less attending his so-called documentary.
I would love to see a microphone and camera stuck in Moore's face asking him where he got his 'facts' for his films, and then pan to credible sources that counter his 'facts'.
He would be so easy to pin down and trap, I don't understand why deep pockets in the conservative world don't step forward to do it. Where is the conservative $ to counter the Soros $?
It is so easy to infiltrate Hollywood with a few $'s. Dress up like constipated Berkelized Green Party fanatic and lure Moore into a surprise interview and lock the door with the cameras rolling.
Let's just hope they don't screen "Triuumph of the Will" next week.
Plenty of room over the (missing) license tag. Put enough stickers on there, and maybe Deputy Dawg won't notice you ain't got nary'n.
"The media has never really told us about all this, and neither has the administration," said Erck, from Stony Brook. "Since Sept. 11, this is the only answer I've gotten, and I believe it."

The equivalent of "I saw it on tv so it must be true". Idiots like this truly should not have a say in the future of our nation. Not only a disgrace to responsible citizens who don't base their vote on a movie experience, but a disgrace to responsible women voters who can rise above their emotional natures to evaluate the choices in a reasonable matter. It infuriates me that these twits will essentially cancel out my husband and my votes.
In essence, F9/11 will be against the law.
I would bet that these two young, easy duped idiots were already predisposed to vote leftist anyway. The article probably forgot to tell us about their pierced tongues and tatoos on the small of their backs.
Oh well, at least these 2 brain dead tramps are voting in NY, so it wont matter in the electoral count..
The audience I viewed the movie with was very enthusiastic. If I believed the movie, I would not be excited, I would be somber. The enthusiastic reaction shows that the left really believes in fascism (though they don't know it). They somehow see Bush as a bad dictator, and that overthrowing him with a "good one" will make things aright.
Now she says she will not only vote, but vote against Bush.
Yeah, right. Some how I bet this idiot was going to vote against Bush from the start but just said this line to give the media something to print.
