It's Gephardt

Just got some scuttlebutt, top Gephardt aide Joyce Aboussie has been sent a private plane to join Dick Gephardt for....one can only assume the announcement that Dick Gephardt will be the next Vice President Nominee for the Democratic Party.

UPDATE: If Aboussie is being flown out and ordering staff to be ready for a change, it's hard to imagine that it is anything, but gearing up for an announcement that he is the VP nominee. He and Aboussie are incredibly close and she is his right hand. Unless this is a bit of disinformation, this is the real deal.

He's got to be the most boring DemocRAT on Capitol Hill.

Didn't go back to see to whom you were replying...but which is the most boring? Dick or John? I think they are both about exciting as watching grass grow.

He is so popular that he has a democratic challenger in the August primary who might just beat him.

I tried a bunch of sites: www.kerrygephardt.com, www.kerrygephardt2004.com, www.kerryedwards2004.com, www.kerryvilsack.com, and www.kerryvilsack2004.com all appear to be owned by the same entity (judging by the page layout). The Kerry-Clinton sites do not seem to be owned by the same entity.

And supposedly Edwards cancelled vacation plans to fly in and meet with Kerry.

Perhaps Clinton's Hollywood buddies the Thomasons have adapted the script from one of those campy 70's mystery/comedy movies. All the VP candidates are flown into a central location for the announcement, just like all the goofy relatives in those flicks were conned into showing up to a reading of the will(in horse-riding duds, German military trenchcoats, and maid outfits), only to find out that all the money was left to the butler (or a Warren Buffett.)

X marks the spot, V is for VP, and W is for....

My St Louis relative has said--IIRC--that Gephardt has not lived there in years; that he uses his mother's apartment as a local address.

Anyway I don't think that the War Kriminal will pick Gephardt as Veep but I do think Dick will get a cabinet slot such as Sec of Labor.

It was not the dead that beat Coke Stevenson, but old fashioned and rather crude ballot stuffing, in Duval County. By today's standards, LBJ would have been convicted of so many felonies, he would have been jailed for life. His smoothest game was collecting bribes through telling the bribers to buy advertising on his "wife's" radio station which he stole, by pulling the regulatory strings via his pal FDR and the Speaker of the House - Rayburn. Positively brilliant all the way around.

This was an image I got when searching "kerry gephardt" in google. It is very small, but was labled:
test_popup_banner.jpg
465 x 240 pixels - 24k
blog.johnkerry.com/ cgi-bin/mt-comments.cgi?en...

Could it be a clue?

Oh, I didn't check the kerryvilsack2004 sites. But kerryvilsack is covered with the .com, .org and 04.com and 04.org appended. Some of the kerrygephardt and kerryedwards sites are squatted upon. But, then again, so is johnfkerry.com

I bow to your knowledge on the subject.

Let me modify: Once you've been beaten once by the dead you never forget.

Combinations and permutations. I use that phrase on occasion, even on this board, although the rigorous math context has become rather largely attenuated. Now it just comes trippingly off the tongue, and is sometimes used in legal briefs, when I think the judge has some modicum of literary and intelligence.

It's not new, though. If you try to click to get the full size, it goes to a file not found page.

Combinations and permutations count the same thing except that permutations also count orderings.

That's why I thought it was interesting. It says test—so maybe it was a test before launching the site, that they pulled immediately? I don't know . . . just guessing.
