It's Gephardt
Just got some scuttlebutt, top Gephardt aide Joyce Aboussie has been sent a private plane to join Dick Gephardt for....one can only assume the announcement that Dick Gephardt will be the next Vice President Nominee for the Democratic Party.
UPDATE: If Aboussie is being flown out and ordering staff to be ready for a change, it's hard to imagine that it is anything, but gearing up for an announcement that he is the VP nominee. He and Aboussie are incredibly close and she is his right hand. Unless this is a bit of disinformation, this is the real deal.

This is what I was thinking. Kerry needs a Zell Miller typewhich is why he was so interested in McCain.
I've heard Sam Nunn bounced around. John Breaux is retiring as well. He would fit that description too.

I hope this it TRUE!
When was the last time a Senator won the White House?
And now, here comes two Senators on the ticket. This is just absolutely wonderful news for conservatives.
Go Dick! Go John! See George Run!

I live in St. Louis. Kerry just lost the election.I live in Florissant. Everyday I drive by a house that has a sign that says "Regime Change begins at Home, Vote Bush-Cheney Out!" It has been there since 2002. North County has a lot of Boeing Machinists and Ford assemblymen in it. Everytime I think Mo is a lock, I think of that sign..

From DU:
<WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Sen. John Kerry is spending the day Monday on his wife's 90-acre farm in Pennsylvania, but he has filled the vice-presidential slot on the Democratic national ticket, a party official told CNN.
The official would not disclose which person Kerry has selected or the details surrounding the announcement.
"It's clear Kerry has made a decision and is committed to announcing it on his terms with discipline more typically associated with Republican campaigns of yesteryear," the Democratic official said. (CNN.com Special Report: America Votes 2004 Veep Contenders)
"That obviously means a rapid turn-around." (Campaigns tour battleground states)
Kerry campaign aides have also remained tight-lipped about when and how the second slot on the Democratic ticket will be filled.>

I engage in many "Freeper fouls" (I will refrain from listing the rather long list at this time). But because of my inherent "charm," I am tolerated nevertheless.

Briefly scanned some of the commentary on DU.
They don't appear real thrilled at the prospect of Gephardt being the selectee.
Dull apparently has chosen a Duller, if Kerry choses Gephardt.

It was Bob Graham who I was trying to think of - had the ex-Gov thing wrong - Senator Graham ( I was trying to think whoever the guy from FL was...that the media have been saying could tip FL toward Kerry).
I think Kerry is going to pick a "State" guy...someone who he thinks can deliver one state -
The leak about a Gephart person taking a flight somewhere...I think that is 100% a set-up they knew the press and others would bite on - Gephart is out in my opinion.

Those "voices" in your head? The Iowa governor thingie strikes me as ludicrous, unless the guy is one of those incredibly politically talented Clinton types, who reads up on policy as a hobby, and does it as a quick study. I tend to doubt it.

All of this sleight of hand will disappear into the ether by tomorrow. It's much more likely that camps in the Kerry campaign are trying to push their guy to the press to get indecisive Kerry to make up his mind based on the "buzz" that results.

Bob Graham is a nutter, but worse, he is a boring and inacticulate nutter. No way.

IT's going to be a big show, with plenty of democratics there for the announcement. Maybe even all the candidates. I started to post a similar observation.
I was going to add that they will then all remove their shirts for Hillary! to walk across on her way to accept the nomination. LOL
