He's channeling Michael Moore.
Ping
It wasnt me, it was one of those other saddam look alikes.
I had to go back and look at the picture to check and see if he had dyed his hair for the court appearance.
Saddam Hussein, John Kerry, Teddy Kennedy, Hillery Clinton, Michael Moore, etc., all the same low life vermin and scum!
"...this is all theater, the real criminal is Bush,..."
Sounds like he's seen Farten-hurt 9-11 a few too many times.
Also sounds like a lib-dem talking point.
He's a devil; kill him. Let him rot in hell with his miscreant sons.
Hope he goes all Hermann Georing on us.
Not possible, since we know from "Reuters" that Iraqis preferred Saddam to Bush's Imperial Occupation.
"Saddam's comments were extremely reminiscent of Bill Clinton's. Both are sociopaths who blame everyone else for their troubles, both are self-immersed, and both are totally in denial."
Most prescient comment of the day, so far.
Iraqi men watch an Arabic TV channel in a Baghdad coffee shop, July 1, 2004, showing their ousted leader, Saddam Hussein in courtroom. Downcast but defiant, Saddam refused to recognize its authority and said the 'real criminal' was U.S. President George W. Bush. REUTERS/Ali Jasim
I sure hope they can protect themselves and the b*****d until the 2005 trial, so they can execute him in style.
The orange jumpsuits seem to have a totally different meaning in Iraq. Everyone that I have seen lately in Iraq in an orange jumpsuit have meet their demise, some unfortunately.
I wish they could put a rush job on it.
Saddam is still Saddam as I heard an Iraqi said he would be...The swagger was missing..the defiance was there...I rather enjoyed his attempts to assert his "rule" and then have to listen to the judge.
If you look real close, you can see a panty line at his forehead.
You have to wonder what is going throught the people's minds. This animal's face was on the only TV, front page of every newspaper, in every town, on the money, in kiddie's textbooks and otherwise omnipresent for over 25 years. 1 in 6 Iraqis know someone killed, mutilated or tortured by his regime. Now, they watch him receiving charges like any other criminal (save for the high profile). What are they thinking? Bless the innocents and may justice be done...
They probably thought this day would never happen. That even the most powerful tyrants in the end must submit to the rule of law and be held to account for their crimes. Its a turning point in Iraq's history and in the history of the Middle East.
