Mad Monica fires back (She has tapes of messages from clinton)
New York Daily News ^ | 6/26/04 | ELLEN TUMPOSKY in London, and TRACY CONNOR in New York

Posted on 06/26/2004 2:33:30 AM PDT by kattracks

Hell hath no fury like an intern scorned.

Monica Lewinsky broke her silence and bared her claws yesterday, branding ex-lover Bill Clinton a creep who "destroyed" her and made her feel like "an insignificant piece of dirt."

As the former President stumped for his best-selling memoir, Lewinsky fumed that he belittled their romance and never apologized for smearing her reputation during the Sexgate scandal.

"He says he was proud of the way that he defended the presidency - at my expense. In the process, he destroyed me," she said.

"I was a young girl and to hear him saying some of the things he was saying today - it's a shame."

Lewinsky said her life would have turned out much differently if she'd never met Clinton.

She imagined that she would be a forensic psychologist, a wife and a mother.

"I have spent the last several years trying so hard to move on. I've lost a lot of time."

Lewinsky, 30, refused to comment to the U.S. media when Clinton's autobiography, "My Life," was published to enormous fanfare this week.

Instead, she gave a paid interview to London's Daily Mail and Britain's ITV News, which aired the half-hour segment last night.

In her most candid remarks since the scandal that rocked the country, Lewinsky portrayed Clinton as a money-grubbing cad incapable of telling the truth.

"It's offensive," she said of his chapters about their fling. "He could easily have chosen to take a few less million dollars and just not write about it."

At various points in the two interviews she referred to him as "the creep," a "liar," a "revisionist of history" and "a wax figure - without humanity."

She seemed unable to reconcile the Bill Clinton of today with the "tender" man who called her "dear" and "baby" and gave her gifts like Walt Whitman's "Leaves of Grass."

"This is someone I used to be in love with?" she asked incredulously.

While she kept her mouth shut when Sen. Hillary Clinton published her memoir last year, Lewinsky said she's speaking out now to correct the account in "My Life."

She's also angry about the "60 Minutes" interview in which Clinton said he cheated on his wife with Lewinsky "for the worst possible reason - just because I could."

"I was really upset when I first heard it," she said.

"He talked about it as though I had laid it all out there for the taking. I was the buffet, and he just couldn't resist the dessert," she fumed.

"That's not how it was," she said. "This was a mutual relationship, mutual on all levels, right from the way it started and all the way through."

What's more, she claims she can prove it with tapes of messages Clinton left on her telephone answering machine and gifts he gave her, all of which she kept.

"If I was just something he used 'because he could,' why call me?" she said. "Why fake all the emotions and the looks and the tenderness?"

"He touched me first," she added.

Adding to the insult is Clinton's refusal to apologize for the way he and his protectors maligned her at the height of the scandal.

"His strategy was to debase my character," she said.

Clinton doesn't seem to appreciate the fact that she refused to wear a wire and get him on tape, even though she was threatened with prison, she said.

"How would he feel if [Chelsea] was picked up in a shopping mall as I was by the FBI, taken to a hotel room, told she couldn't call an attorney and threatened with jail for 27 years?

"How would he feel if she was trashed by the person she had the relationship with?"

Now that she and Clinton are back on the front pages, she has just one question for him: "Can't you just step up to the plate and correct the things you did that were wrong?"

Clinton's spokeswoman did not return calls.

Pain - in her own words

On Clinton's comments about their affair: "He's acting as though it was nothing more than a bug bite that got infected."

On how he treated her: "He says he was proud of the way that he defended the presidency - at my expense. In the process, he destroyed me."

On his chapter about the affair: "He could easily have chosen to take a few less million dollars and just not write about it."

On her life: "When I look at photographs of me before all this happened, I can see a happiness there that has gone. He could have made it easier on me, but at least I have the advantage of truth."

I just wanted to point out the fact without boring everyone that a Mental Illness usually differs from a Personality Disorder although a person can have both. If Clinton ever was diagnosed he would probably would be given some type of Sociopathic Disorder with Narcissistic and Grandiose tendencies. But I don't think he has a Schizophrenia or other mental illness. Gore, on the other hand looks and acts delusional at times, and his lack of facial expression would suggest to me a possibility of an early dementia of some type.

I had wondered what kept her alive.

I had thought it was Linda and the blue stained dress. Monica had backup.

And here we are talking about crap again instead of Chinagate, arrestingBinLadengate, and Gorelick's wallgate.

Every intelligent person knows the sinkmeister used relatively minor "scandals" to cover up MAJOR, illegal situations. It worked for him. He will never pay for his evil doings.

I am cracking up!

If I was just something he used 'because he could,' why call me?" she said. "Why fake all the emotions and the looks and the tenderness?"

As if the answer isn't obvious - because he could, of course! ROFLMAO

......branding ex-lover Bill Clinton.....

This is an interesting statement. If there was no intercourse, was the Slick One a lover?

If not the what? What is the reciprocal of White Trash?

Where did you state that? What thread number? You seem to flip flip your responses when ever convenient. Kerry lite?

Check post #187. What's with the Kerry lite dig. I guess when you can't discuss something factually, you have to resort to ad hominen attacks.

You say that likes it's a bad thing. Are you envious that Monica is playing the "two to tango" goes both ways?

Why would I be envious? My bottom line is that I don't think Monica is a victim. In many ways, she may have come out on top in the long run. Clinton is the first elected President ever to be impeached. He was so consumed and stained by Monicagate that he was rendered impotent in the WOT. Re Clinton's legacy burnishing tome, the media are more interested in the Monica scandal than anything else. Clinton's obituary will mention Monica. They are linked forever in the history books. In the meantime, Monica has used the scandal to make money and achieve celebrity status. When she finally writes her tell all book and releases the tapes, she will become a multimillionaire. Not bad for a poor little intern who snagged the most powerful man in the world. She may have been on her knees then, but she is in a commanding position now. Is America a great country or what? LOL

Kabar doesn't understand that often young women's sexual action can be more mature than their emotions.

I do feel sorry for Monica. She still doesn't "get it", and if the Lord has any compassion at all, she never will.

She isn't naive, really, but I think she doesn't feel quite "real" unless there is crisis and high drama in her life. She's incredibly needy and you don't get that way unless your parents have screwed you up big time.

She HAS to believe is was about love. Thinking that she had this huge romance, the love of a lifetme, is the only way to survive. Her life is ruined! Who would marry her? Can you imagine growing up as Monica's child?

The money and infamy might be enjoyed on some level (all that drama). But if she ever grows past that, the humiliation and shame might kill her.

As someone recently wrote, if it weren't for the blue dress, Clinton would undoubtedly now be characterizing Monica now as a delusional nut case. It's only because of the physical evidence that Clinton is showing her any humanity at all.

"OMG, just realized I'm talking about a former president of the US."

Dick Armey: "I believe he's a shameless person. If it were me that had documented personal conduct along the lines of the president's, I would be so filled with shame that I would resign. This president won't do that. His basic credo in life is, 'I will do whatever I can get away with.'"

George Stephanopolous: "The President [Clinton] has kept all of the promises he intended to keep."

Sen. Bob Kerrey (D-Neb.): "Clinton's an unusually good liar. Unusually Good. Do you realize that?"

Sen. Bill Bradley (D-N.J.): "They [the American people] don't believe what Bill Clinton says."

Al Gore: "I will say that I think that the ethical standards established in this White House have been the highest in the history of the White House."

Rep. David Obey (D-Wis.): "I think most of us learned sometime ago that if you don't like the president's [Clinton's] position on a particular issue, you just have to wait a couple of weeks."

Mike McCurry (3/26/92): "If I was on the Clinton staff, I would say we have one problem, and one problem only: People don't think we're honest enough to be President".

Kathleen Willey (3/15/98): "Then he [Clinton] kissed me on my mouth and pulled me closer to him. And ... I remember thinking -- ... `what in the world is he doing?' he touched my breasts with his hand ... and he whispered ... `I've wanted to do this ever since I laid eyes on you.' And ... then he took my hand, and he put it on him."

[Typical sleazy DemocRAT operative, and Clinton kool-aid drinker], James Carville:

"Elections are about fu*king your enemies. Winning is about fu*king your friends."

"I want to say one thing to the American people, I'm going to say this again. I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky. I never told anybody to lie. Not a single time. Never. These allegations are false and I need to go back to work for the American people." -- Bill Clinton (01/26/98)

"I have said that nothing improper happened, I have a very clear memory of the meeting. I told the truth then, I told the truth in the (Paula Jones) deposition." (03/16/98 [Clinton] response to questions regarding Kathleen Willey)

"I emphatically deny it, It did not happen." (Clinton deposition released 3/6/98 by Jones' lawyers.)

"It has been so difficult because of so many of the lies that he has told about me and about what happened. ... I really didn't expect him to go into detail about our relationship in the book. ... But if he had and he'd done it honestly, I wouldn't have minded. ... I did, though, at least expect him to correct the false statements he made ... . Instead, he talked about it as though I had laid it all out there for the taking. I was the buffet and he just couldn't resist the dessert. ... In an interview with Independent Television News broadcast Friday, Lewinsky said she was especially upset by Clinton's assertion on CBS' "60 Minutes" that he embarked on the affair "for the worst possible reason. Just because I could." "I was really upset when I first heard it." Monica Lewinsky - AP - 6-25-04

Monica got mad at Linda Tripp for taping their conversation. But it's okay for Monica to do it when Clinton's on the phone.

Assuming that Monica is telling the truth, the tapes she has are from messages Slick left on her answering machine (see below). That's different than recording a phone conversation. I don't know if it would be illegal for her to release them, but if she's got them, I hope she goes public with them.

"What's more, she claims she can prove it with tapes of messages Clinton left on her telephone answering machine..."

Now reality is starting to set in and she feels scorned. This could have been avoided if she was not raised by liberals and placed among liberals.

Good post. She had her mother and aunt cheering on her escapades with Clinton, and her father thinking, after meeting Clinton, that he was talking to his future son-in-law! What an immoral, delusional bunch.

I wonder why Star let her get away with NOT turning over this evidence that she obviously withheld.

She ended up turning in the gift evidence (remember, that was the stuff hidden under Betty Currie's bed), and I remember hearing before that Clinton had left messages on her answering machine, although I don't know if Starr had copies of them.

not that I'm not thoroughly enjoying this, but having Monica
and her tapes back in the picture is only valuable in that
it makes it nearly impossible for JeffinK to get his message
out. it would be merely very hard for him to get his
message out, but he's also coma-inducingly boring.

"Does anyone remember Ron Brown's funeral and the quick change Klinton did when he saw the cameras?"

Sure do. I have the videotapes of Rush Limbaugh's TV shows where he showed that episode over and over again.

Two phony grifters -- Clinton in politics and Tony 'Baloney' Campolo in religion -- walking along laughing and talking after Ron Brown's funeral --- until Clinton spied the camera on him and hurriedly switched gears pretending to wipe a tear from his eye.

BTTT!!

I can't wait to hear Linda Tripp weigh in on this. Linda tapes Monica. Monica rages that she was betrayed and the media agrees.

Monica tapes Klintoon....but evidently this is okay. The media will love it.

What a merry-go-round. However, I bet our gal Linda will end up with the gold ring in this little three-cornered tapefest.

A little more careful reading: She said she kept the tapes of phone messages BJ Bill left on her answering machine. Thats different than taping a two-way conversation unbeknownst to one of the parties.

Yep, and we don't know what's on the answering machine messages. I'd like to think that even Clinton wouldn't be stupid enough to leave anything sexual on the messages, but you never know with him.
