ARLINGTON, VA -- Bush Cheney '04 today launched a new web video titled "Kerry's Coalition of the Wild-eyed." The ad highlights the pessimism and rage of John Kerry and his fellow Democrats. The Faces of John Kerry's Democratic Party
The Coalition of the Wild-eyed
"How dare they drag the good name of the United States of America through the mud of Saddam Hussein's torture prison?" (Al Gore, Remarks At New York University, 5/26/04)
[Inaudible chanting, clip from ad]
"I want my country back!" (Gov. Howard Dean, Remarks To California Democratic Convention, 3/15/03)
"We live in a time where we have a man sending us to war for fictitious reasons." (Academy Awards, 3/23/03)
"This president is a miserable failure." (Rep. Gephardt, Democrat Presidential Candidates Debate, Albuquerque, NM, 9/4/03)
[Inaudible chanting, clip from ad]
"He betrayed this country! He played on our fears!" (Fox News Channel's "Hannity and Colmes," 2/9/04; CNBC's "The News On CNBC," 2/9/04)
"Today, today, George Bush will lay off your camel, tax your shovel, kick your (bleep) and tell you there is no Promise Land." (Harkin Steak Fry, Indianola, IA, 9/13/03)
This is not a time for pessimism and rage
President Bush: It's a time for optimism, steady leadership and progress

The Dems are stark raving mad.
These audio clips sound like they are from Munich in the 1930's. Pure Nazi rhetoric.
I love the way they marginalize Hillary by not even mentioning her. It must drive her crazy not to be seen as an adversary...or rather not to be seen at all.
You cannot turn on a TV today without at least one "screaming face" show on. Maybe it is one of these "judge" shows or "court tv" or whatever. My point is Americans seem to LIKE to watch folks scream at each other. I don't know but maybe we identify with the screamers? My point is Gore screams in this ad as does Dean and so forth. Then we see steady President Bush and I wonder if we as a people have changed so much we don't think steady is relevant anymore? That is why this ad scares me. It is VERY well done but will it backfire?
I think showing dems in action is good. I just think they spend way too much time on dem footage with just a frame at the end on Bush. They should show Bush throughout the commercial against a backdrop of the dem idiots so the public sees a constant contrast and sees Bush in action and not just as a frozen image at the end.
The RNC hasn't a clue. If they don't figure out how to develop commercials more effectively we're screwed.
the voter who is usually not paying attention to politics, but wants a president who is "presidential"...
This is a very effective summary showing how extreme these people are...When Clinton portrayed Republicans as "right-wing extremists" that was very effective with this group. He used OKC and that tag to defeat Dole in 96.
The Dems have gone nuts...and letting the world see them doing it on TV is very effective.
You have to also remember that as close as the polls look on the election, the President's LIKEABILITY numbers have stayed in the 60s....Rove et. al. are going to drum in this "extremist" label to get late-deciders to fall our way on the "likeability" factor...
I hope you're right! I see this ad a s a BIG gamble on the part of the President.
I agree the ad looks like it will do more harm than good unless there are more interjections to show contrast.
The add looks like DNC which feeds the rage people hear everyday. The RNC needs to be calming and constantly showing the difference.
my 2 cents
I just want to clear up any confusion about this ad and make it clear that this is only a web-ad, and it will not be shown on TV.
I'd like to see them use the same exact camera techniques Michael Moore uses. Totally rip him off. Do an add using Moores same camera cuts, lighting, look, etc. They could use this same content but instead of lies and fabrication use the real content. And make sure to make fun of Moore.
Rip him off so much Moore threatens to sue. But use the truth.
Call it Faren-Nutz 911 or something like that.
Oh man talk about dropping the ball. When they registered georgewbush.com they should hae gotten .org and .net too. What a shame.
Good. It's a little "hot" for TV, but it has the makings of a great TV ad. I'd trim it down to 60 seconds; eliminate the Hitler clip (granting that it was taken from a Move On ad, it could still be misinterpreted); probably eliminate the Michael Moore clip (non-political junkies don't know who he is); and end with some actual audio/video from President Bush.
The overall concept, though, is great. I think it's important to show the in-your-face screaming by the rage-filled Gore, Dean, Gephardt, Kerry, et al. Most people are repulsed by that kind of thing. The red-meat rantings were aimed at attendees of Dem campaign rallies and the like, but everyone should see them.
THIS ONE!!!!!!
Here! Lookie here! :-)
Once more, the Republican leadership nibbles around the edges, runs away with some crumbs, and doesn't go for the cheese. Why can't they RUN THIS ON TELEVISION?
Thanks for the ping!
Just woke up and on first cup of coffee.
Let me read! :)
