Iran seeks swap of Brits for suicide attackers
Report says 40 Revolutionary Guard 'volunteers' held by UK
Iran apprehended British military personnel and Navy vessels earlier this week in order to secure release of 40 "suicide operations volunteers" held by the UK, according to an Iranian Revolutionary Guard source.
The source told the London Arabic-language daily Al-Sharq Al-Awsat that the British Army command in Iraq received the demand from the Revolutionary Guard, reported the Middle East Media Research Institute.
According to the source, the content of the message was very simple: "Release our comrades, whom you are holding, and we will release your soldiers."

Great, if everyone did that (keep an eye on them)we'd be in a safer position. It's possible that their movements will provide some forewarning of an event in a certain area.
Although there are MANY of THEM, we can still do our part.
Just be careful!!

Bosporus Update (PMSNBC says that Turkey has warships in this strait and all shipping lanes are closed until after the NATO meeting)
Turkeys Bosporus strait, one of the worlds busiest shipping lanes, will be closed during the June 28-29 NATO summit in Istanbul for security reasons, a Turkish political source said yesterday. (Reuters)
Russian Tankers Bottle Up Bosporus

Turkey says the tankers that weave through the Bosporus Strait pose a threat to the environment as well as to other vessels.
ISTANBUL, Turkey -- Giant tankers carrying Russian and Caspian oil to Western markets weave through the narrow curves of the Bosporus Strait bisecting Istanbul. It's a busy scene -- and one Turkey says could threaten an environmental disaster.
Turkey's location at the crossroads of the Mediterranean and Black Sea, and the Middle East, Caucasus and Europe has put it at the center of some of the world's fastest expanding energy markets.
But its status as a corridor to the West has also put the key U.S. NATO ally in a difficult spot as it juggles environmental, safety and strategic concerns with growing oil tanker traffic on the 34-kilometer Bosporus, also crowded with ferries and fishing boats.
The debate on how to transport oil to Western markets peaked this year amid what industry officials said was the worst Bosporus bottleneck in more than a decade.
The congestion coincided with calls in Europe and the United States to reduce reliance on Middle Eastern oil, especially with the price of oil rising sharply in recent months.
But bringing new Caspian and Russian resources to the West has proven tricky because it currently often involves a trip through the Bosporus. Turkey says a single slip-up could see thousands of tons of oil on the shores of Istanbul, a city of more than 12 million people.
"A major shipping disaster on the Bosporus is not a question of if but when," said Nilufer Oral, a lawyer who is an expert on Turkey's straits. "Right now, it is more feasible for companies to ship oil ... [But] this calculation does not take into account the external costs of a potential accident."
Last year, Turkey put into operation a $45 million radar monitoring system to cut the risk of accidents. It also introduced new regulations that reduce the number of tankers that can pass through the Bosporus at night -- measures some say have led to further delays.

...referring to muslim owned businesses being closed for the past several days in the Ft. Worth area.If proven to be true, that indeed would be certainly be a signal or at the very least an indication we might perhaps be checking other cities for the same type of action. This is exactly the type of information we are attempting to extract and evaluate. Please let us know what you find out.

Re: ZERO HOUR WARNING POSTED ON ISLAMIC WEB SITE
My (emcomus2000) 2 cents worth:
"the zero hour and the end of the period with the sunset"
A calendar measurement. A date on their time (or our time) or maybe a moon/sun cycle. Summer solstice was Monday June 21st.
"The sunset from on Friday And the hour is now in the local time of Holy Mecca he 6 : 12 من عصر Friday"
Full moon is Friday July 2nd.
"for the citizens the staying in the ways and as if the life is ordinary totally ...Cars and passers-by "
be sure not to draw suspicion by any mistake at this late stage in planning/execution.
"When exactly the period ends they were returned spreading the statement so that the world knows that the militants if they threatened that achieved and it will be Salool 's families they have arranged with several the matter neglect satellite channels"
as soon as this event is complete, we will broadcast images along with our demands, with proof that if we threaten, it can come to pass. We have secured sattelite acces.
There are about 18 weeks left till "you decide 2004"
Today was the strongest attack since Spain.
get ready kids.

That has been my concern with the "missing" Iranian Kilo class submarines. I'm more concerned that they'll kamikazi an aircraft carrier than a port.

In my case, I know the business owner socially. We've had theological discussions.
He helped form my initial understanding of Islam, unfortunately. I actually believed what he said about the quran.
I have since learned better, through the reading of history and parts of the quran itself.
To put it bluntly, he lied to me. I can only think of two reasons for him to do so; shame of his own religion, or firm belief in the tenets of his own religion. Based on our conversations, I eliminate shame.
