So Al-Qaeda operatives planned to blow up a mall in Ohio. Big deal. Saddams WMDs found in pieces spread out over the Middle East? Who cares. Headlines of unbridled importance are routinely banished to the dung heap of random word garbage. What else has been buried in the crevasses of common sense? I recently spoke to a hateful Jewish liberal intellectual who pointed out the presidents resemblance to an orangutan. As a Jew, I understood Jewish liberal hatred of the President -- his stupidity, his stupid religion, his stupid Middle East policies, his stupid rejection of the UN, the stupid Iraq war, his stupid refusal to condemn Israels right to defend itself, and the stupidly dangerous Patriot Act. But my understanding was incomplete. Hatred also comes from "the God thing" -- the Jewish liberal belief that Mr. Bush advocates divine providence, the supposed invocation of Gods name, on our behalf, to invade countries, take over the world and baptize everyone.
Mr. Bush has never adopted any of those positions. However, presidents have always sought comfort and strength in God. But Jewish liberals, believing fiercely in the separation of church and state, loath any merging of God, democracys moral underpinnings and politics. Of course, only fear-mongering Republican zealots use God to comfort us in times of tumult. Presidents Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton respected the sacred separation of church and state...or did they?
Jimmy Carter invoked God often. In his inaugural address, he merged God, morality and responsibility:
... I have just taken the oath of office on the Bible my mother gave me a few years ago, opened to a timeless admonition from the ancient prophet Micah:
"He hath showed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God." (Micah 6:8)
Ours was the first society openly to define itself in terms of both spirituality and of human liberty. It is that unique self-definition which has given us an exceptional appeal, but it also imposes on us a special obligation, to take on those moral duties which, when assumed, seem invariably to be in our own best interests.
In State of the Union and other speeches, Bill Clinton frequently invoked God. In 2000:
And we will become at last what our founders pledged us to be so long ago -- one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
In 1993:
The Scripture says And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. ...And now, each in our own way and with God's help, we must answer the call.
In 1995:
...And also to fulfill the eternal promise of this country, the enduring dream from that first and most-sacred covenant. I believe every person in this country still believes that we are created equal and given by our creator the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
How about God and war? While discussing the need to confront Saddam and his WMDs, Mr. Clinton, on February 17, 1998, stated:
If we look at the past and imagine that future, we will act as one together. And we still have, God willing, a chance to find a diplomatic resolution to this, and if not, God willing, the chance to do the right thing for our children and grandchildren.
While invoking the name of God during an attack on Iraq on December 16, 1998, President Clinton noted:
May God bless and protect the brave men and women who are carrying out this vital mission and their families. And may God bless America.
Jewish liberals apparent comfort with God-invoking Democrats and hatred of George Bushs God is baffling. Perhaps they consider their own leaders to be disingenuous. That there is a difference between the divine providence of King Arthur and the firm religious conviction of George Bush is lost on Jewish liberals. Believing it is a harbinger of a crusade to come, Jewish liberals fear and rebel against what they think is divine providence. They confuse absolute theocratic abuses with moral conviction. The real danger is not George Bush's God. Manifested as totalitarian or communist regimes, absolute God-rejectionists have bitten Jews and others hard. Genocidal warrior states like China, the Soviet Union and Germany demanded Godlessness while slaughtering believers. Our current leadership is the exact opposite. In fact, in case anyone has forgotten, it is not George Bush who invokes the name of God to inflict evil, it is the psychosis of radical Islam. Invoking Gods name to steady a weary nation is a comfort not a liability. Choosing to misrepresent or misunderstand Mr. Bushs God, Jewish liberals do a disservice to themselves. Sadly, once again, the chosen people are choosing poorly.

And every one of them a blatant lie.
Doesn't this explain the entire Kerry campaign: A single, blinding hatred of ANYTHING conservative?
They had no problem at all with pious Joe LIEberman, did they?
Their irrational hatred of all things conservative will get them no where and seemingly they haven't learned from the past that it did get them into the ovens.
Thanks for the post. A few weeks ago, the author wrote a funny and insightful article in the Washington Times in which his liberal friends and neighbors would call he and his wife Nazis because they were conservative. Everything he'd said rang true, but he was able to put a humorous spin on it.
My impression is that secularized liberal Jews given a choice would choose Islam over Christian based on their faulty understanding of historical events...and quite possible their comfort in Muslim denial of the divinity of Jesus Christ.
I cant understand the Jewish people. Bush is the best friend they have and they hate him, Crazyfolks. they love Hillary after she called them F'in Jew Bastards. You tell me whats going on, I dont know. I do know I have had a bellyful of Americans dying because we have stuck with Israel, and then having American Jews side with Liberals. I feel 911 was a strike at America for backing Israel. That doesnt mean I am against Israel it means lets see a little appreciation here.Every time I question a Jewish post in here I am called an Anti Semite, I am getting a bellyful of that too. Israel could not survive without the USA , they know it and we know it and the Muslims know it.Bush is taking heat for Jews, and getting bad mouthed by them and it just isnt right.
"As a JEW, I take offense to these Jewish liberal who ONCE again are focusing on the wrong target! While the rest of the WORLD hates the Jews..."
As a conservative Christian, I have never understood why Jews (I guess the liberal ones, huh?) do not support Republicans. Every (and I do mean EVERY) Christian I know believes the Jews are The Chosen People, and we must support and defend them. Unlike some Christians, I do not try to convert Jews to Christianity...I figure God is running the show, and since they are His Chosen, He'll protect them.
No offers to debate how Jews will be judged by God, please...my only point in this was to question why Jews support democrats more than Republicans.
It is a fact that Liberal Jews in America, just don't get it! They have not learned the lessons of history very well at all, if they had, they would not be supporting canidates who support abortion, the same goes for blacks.
Hitler targeted the jews for extermination, he did so by telling the german people that they were less than human, so it was thier duty to rid the earth of them. The only reason Hitler didn't kill them all was that the US military went over there and put a stop to him, and the nazi's.
Blacks were brought over on ships to be slaves to southern slave masters, many were mistreated, raped, tortured, etc.
Thank God that there were enough people that believed such a thing was wrong, and they stopped it by electing a President who represented the right values, and brought freedom to the black slaves.
George W. Bush has followed in the steps of great leaders like Abe Lincoln, and others who had the moral fortitute to recongnize when it was necessary for us to take action, that is why we went to IRAQ, to free those oppressed by an evil dictator!
Both Jews and Blacks have consistantly voted for thier own demise by helping to elect ungodly men into office. They have chosen to aid the genocide against the unborn using the same deadly principles that hitler used to murder many of them.
Without a doubt, John Kerry is one of these evil, ungodly politicians that will wreak havoc upon this nation if he gets into the Whitehouse.
How can those in the Jewish community even consider voting for such people, have they no spiritual convictions? Surley the Torah does not teach this type of hatful rethoric that we hear coming from the liberal Jewish groups these day's? How do they reconcile thier faith with thier actions? Do they not believe in the same God of the Bible that I do? Will they not give account to the same God I will?
I have come to the conclusion that the deep rooted Christ faith of George W. Bush is still a stumbling block to the jews.
" Bush is the best friend they have and they hate him"
Alright, calm down everybody, step back, this case is serious but probably not fatal.
There is not so well known electronic disturbance that causes liberal Jews to be magnetically attracted to "hot" microphones. you sir are just having an alergic reaction to that phenomin......phenin..... femin..... occurance.
take one look at JPFO and two Charles Krauthammer columns and call me in the morning.
"I cant understand the Jewish people. Bush is the best friend they have and they hate him, Crazyfolks. they love Hillary after she called them F'in Jew Bastards. You tell me whats going on.."
Actually, they could survive even better without depending on the US and in their hearts, they really know that. For the Almighty is their Protector. That doesn't mean that the US isn't a good friend and a help, but we aren't what keeps them from destruction. Unfortunately, human nature is such that we tend to not acknowledge God's Hand. If you are feeling down for not getting appreciation, imagine how the ALmighty Lord of Hosts feels!
We stand by Israel because it's the right thing to do. We don't demand or even expect thanks or appreciation for doing hte right thing.
It's an elitist attitude that nearly made them extinct in Europe. Seemingly nothing has been learned.
America is what keeps Israel safe......the Arab world is afraid that if they attack Israel we will retaliate on their behalf. This is what keeps the State intact. The only democratic state in the region, BTW.
Behold, He who keeps (guards, preserves, protects) Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
I am a Christian who believes that after the Resurrection, there ceased to be a "Chosen People" in terms of nationality. God loves all races eaqually, but only those who themselves choose to be with him through Christ may receive Salvation. I have a special respect for Isreal, because of all that the Jewish people have been through, and because they maintain the only stable democracy in the Middle East, but the New Covenant means that they ceased to be His Chosen People 2,000 years ago.
Bigotry is bigotry. It takes a different form among Jewish liberals, but if anything, it is less excusable than traditional bigotry -- Jewish liberals are educated and well-off, claim to be great humanitarians, and like other liberals, wish to use the power of government to tell us all how to live. They have less excuse than anyone to hate people for their culture and beliefs.
While we shouldn't demand thanks, we should expect it.
And the fact we "don't" do something doesn't mean we're right. It may just mean that we're wimps.
An exclusionary religion that once vied with Christianity for dominance and Judaism lost Big Time.
Lingering sour grapes and profound disillusionment over their God in History who deserted them.
They have little reason for smugness and real reason for reassessment.
