Parents Beware: Shrek 2 Features Transgenderism and Crossdressing Themes

Summary: The DreamWorks' animated film, "Shrek 2," is billed as harmless entertainment but contains subtle sexual messages.

Parents who are thinking about taking their children to see "Shrek 2", may wish to consider the following: The movie features a male-to-female transgender (in transition) as an evil bartender. The character has a five o'clock shadow, wears a dress and has female breasts. It is clear that he is a she-male. His voice is that of talk show host Larry King.

During a dance scene at the end of the movie, this transgendered man expresses sexual desire for Prince Charming, jumps on him, and both tumble to the floor.

In another scene in the movie, Shrek and Donkey need to be rescued from a dungeon where they are chained against the wall. The rescue is conducted by pinnochio who is asked to lie so his nose will grow long enough for one of the smaller cartoon characters to use it as a bridge to reach Shrek and Donkey. Donkey encourages him to lie about something and suggetsts he lie about wearing women's underwear. When he denies wearing women's underwear, his nose begins to grow.

An earlier scene in the movie features a wolf dressed in grandma's clothing and reading a book when Prince Charming encounters him. Later, one of the characters refers to the wolf's gender confusion.

TVC's report "A gender Identity Disorder Goes Mainstream" explains the transgender agenda and the effort to deconstruct the biological reality of male and female. DreamWorks is helping in this effort by promoting cross dressing and transgenderism in this animated film.

Some people live joyless lives, and as such don't want others to have any. There are some who live to squash the joyful innocence of children and can't let them be watching a cartoon movie. Sometimes I think the old cliches about right wing fundies having no fun is there for a reason.

They're worried that somewhere, somebody might be having some fun.

There are also those people (some on this thread) that see boogeymen everywhere they turn.

Yep. No Harry Potter, no Disney, no cartoons. Yuk.

These are the same people who will buy every kookburger conspiracy theory that comes down the pike.

Well, Rome's official exorcist, Fr. Gabrielle Amorth said "behind Harry Potter hides the signature of the king of the darkness, the devil."

But what does he know.

Not enough to distinguish reality from fiction, obviously.

Please, and anyway, what about Pinocchio lying about not wearing womens underwear?

Boys or even men wearing mens underewear is sick behavior..behavior that needs help to be gotten rid of.

And what about the comments in the movie concerning the wolfs gender confusion?

I see alot of emphasis by the crossdresing apologists on here concerning the bartender, but they aren't addressing Pinnochio or the comments made concerning the wolf.

"1) It was never presented in a distasteful manner. Yes, there is some "ugliness", but it's just a feeling of sadness, knowing something's wrong, really. And at least it was reality, as well as NOT some sympathetic characters who did the deed. We're don't see Bambi or his mom behave in some crude manner, yet made to feel they're the "good guys". IOW, it's NOT an "anti-hero" movie"

Huh? Don't know where you're going here, but Bambi is definitely an anti-gun, anti-hunting movie. I'm not sure what your whole point was about 'anti-hero', but it's an early Disney example of trying to influence your children.

"2) How did you know the guys were white? "

Because any hunter in every Hollywood movie made is white, just like 99% of reality. All the times I've been hunting, I've yet to meet a fellow hunter who was black.

Uh-oh. TVC will be coming after Monty Python's Flying Circus and the comedies of Shakespeare, next.

"I don't see the ogre lifetyle being taught within some schools, like crossdressing is."

Not yet at least. Oh, 'rarely is freedom lost all at once'. There will be a couple of mentions of it in the coming years. Then there will be a one week block mandated for all schools to teach the Ogre Lifestyle. Then the TV show starring that little scamp Frankie Muniz will have an Ogre guess star and all of the sudden we're all FORCED to live with Ogres among us. This is how they work, the filthy "others".

Now, let's get into the Harry Potter thing. :-) I was looking into some of the names, creatures, and ideas that Rowling used in these books and realized that she was doing what a lot of fantasy writers have done. Going through old legends and mythology that are of interest to her and combining them together.

Yep... I feel sorry for someone who had such a deprived childhood that they can't bear to see someone else have one. My mom was really poor. She didn't get to go to the best private schools. However, she made sure my sister and I had all the opportunities in life that we didn't have.

But what does he know.

Amorth tends to be a bit hysterical, and has, lately, become quite the publicity hound.

Maybe he wants to get his 15 minutes before he dies.

"Some people live joyless lives."

And some people, like crossdressers/transgenderists, live with mental disorders and not geeting the help they so desperately need...while all along be told that that behavior is 'ok'.

Are you implying that Crossdressing/transgenderism is fun? No, it is a mental disorder.

Cookburger conspiracy theory? tell that to the parents in California, whose kids are being subjected to hearing all about sick twisted behaviors like crossdressing.

When they watch the movie they will know all about their kids having to hear about that mental disorder being spun with a positive light.

I'm a man and I wear men's underwear.
Thats sick behavior? What would you suggest I wear, then?

Oh my God! I've been sick my whole life and didn't know it!

Do you just not wear underwear at all?

Have you never met a woman who was quite masculine? I know women who shave. Ever heard of hirsutism (sp?). There are various disorders in women that can lead to masculine body features. Ever seem the wrestler China, before her surgery? The ugly sister was not, in my opinion, a cross dressed male, just a very, very ugly sister, that was all.

The man that I am can see the point you're trying to make.

It's just the woman inside of me that is having a hard time coming to grips with the overall intent.

It's a spoof, Lassie.

Lou Sheldon has to send out hysteria like this from time to time to keep the donations ginned up.

He knows just how to get church ladies' panties in a wad.

You don't realize what a fool you're making of yourself.

Please, your attempt to be humorous is boring, to say the least.

The poster to which I responded made some cute comments about Ogres being shown in a positive light as if that and the 1.promotion of transgenderism/crossdressing within schools and 2. the crossdressing/transgenderism themes within Shrek2 could be compared with ogres being shown in a positive light.

They can't be compared. Ogres are mythological creatures. The teaching of crossdressing and transgenderism within schools and numerous movies addressing theses sicknesses in a humorous sort of way isn't mythology. He failed to make a comparison and so have you.

As are your attempts at serious debate concerning the 'dangerous message' of an ugly bartender in an animated movie.

You know that I meant womens underwear. My fault, though in not checking better what I wrote. Yes I wear underwear, though probably not the gender-confused kind that you wear.

(Rolling eyes) Oh yes, "Shrek 2" and its evil, vile message will surely send this country on a path straight to Hell! (/sarcasm off)

Donations down a bit this quarter, TVC? What's next- "Send us allllll of your money so we can clean up the disgusting filth on ESPN Classic and HGTV"?
