Muslims here express outrage

Denounce al-Qaida's beheading of an American hostage

Hours after an al-Qaida group announced the killing of American hostage Paul Johnson on Friday, Muslims expressed outrage locally at the second beheading linked to the U.S. invasion of Iraq.

Muslim Democrats from around the state were in a caucus at the Texas Democratic Party's convention in Houston when the news broke of Johnson's beheading.

Dr. Inayat Lalani, a retired surgeon from Fort Worth and the head of the caucus, said he and other members "absolutely, categorically and vehemently denounce" the killing.

"This was the act of some brutal people who have nothing to do with decency. We completely repudiate that. That is not Islam," he said.

The remains of the 49-year-old Johnson, an electronics engineer who worked for Lockheed Martin Corp., were found north of Saudi Arabia's capital city of Riyadh on Friday. Photos of his bloody body were shown on an Islamic Web site.

Hours later, Saudi authorities announced they had surrounded and killed the men responsible for Johnson's death, including the reputed ringleader of the al-Qaida cell that kidnapped him.

At a small shopping center along Hillcroft in southwest Houston that caters to Indian and Pakistani communities, Muslims expressed a similar sentiment.

"What's going on in Saudi Arabia is horrible," said Mushtaq Qureshi, a 48-year-old Houston resident who came to the United States from Pakistan 15 years ago. "We don't like the Taliban or the terrorists who are doing this. We just want to live in peace and love."

Qureshi said he sometimes worried about being victimized for his religious beliefs, but did not think he was in more danger in the wake of Friday's killing.

Many Americans, he said, have misperceptions about his religion.

Kamran Jilani, who arrived in the United States from Pakistan four years ago, said many Muslims are scared about the events unfolding in the Arab world.

Jilani said he was not concerned about a backlash against Muslims after Friday's killing.

Mohammad Zee, 42, said he never felt afraid in the United States because he thinks the majority of Americans are kind and respectful.

He said people need to understand that the terrorists who are killing Americans abroad are not following the tenets of Islam.

"Islam does not allow this type of killing," he said. "Islam does not teach us to kill."

"Many Americans, he said, have misperceptions about his religion."

Well then ...

Many Muslims, I say, have misperceptions about his religion!

"You told me you loved me

so I don't understand

why promises are snapped in two

and words are made to bend

some stolen from Japan

collected from around the world,

they'll catch you if they can

lies lies lies yeah

lies lies lies yeah

Now, what again was that expression? "Boob bait for the Bubbas"?

Well, this "Bubba" aint' bitin'!! My tagline makes it abundantly clear why.

Stinking murder cultists one and all.

Be gone, vermin!!

Gee, they kill (in horrendous ways, most of them) 3,000 people in New York, Washington DC and Pennsylvania, and nary a peep. They mutilate and kill contracters in Iraq. They behead Nick Berg; they slash the throat and nearly kill a reporter--and they do much more, to many others. All is quiet throughout.

Now, finally, they get around to DENOUNCING one of the heinous acts?

A little late, in my book. They can stuff it.

They're learning to feign outrage at the misdeeds of their co-religionists. Ever since 9-11, they've been sharply critized for condemning Islamic terrorism, in, at best, a vague, non-specific way.

Yes, these two or three Moslems stand in stark contrast to the absolute silence when 3000 U.S. citizens and three 747 class aircraft were destroyed.

Where was their outrage then, other than a number of Moslem clerics trying to horn in on the funeral services, which was an outrage I'll never forget. Where has been their outrage at the radical Moslem sects trying to pevent Iraqis from having self-determination? Where is their outrage at all the innocents being killed by mass murder on Iraqi soil?

While I welcome any expression of sympathy or outrage out of this group, I've had nothing to welcome to this point.

Christians express outrage at evil, whether perpetrated by their own or others. Moslems have so far stood in stark contrast to this. Enough said!

They don't give a rip about Johnson or the USA .

They are just worried about their precious Saudi Arabia, which represents stability and stregnth to an Arab. I think it's that the Evildoers may affect them now, the evil coming home to roost.....
Thats all
Otherwise they would have spoken up all these months and years about all the numerous attrocities that did not affect them so much,
All of a sudden they grew a heart ?

It occurred to me this morning that perhaps there might be a kind of "three-strikes-you're-out" atmosphere developing, here and abroad. How many be-headings have we seen? Two, or is it three?

Perhaps they are starting to remember the WWII internment camps, and figure they better start backpedaling.

"Islam does not teach us to kill."

Unless you're killing Jewish kids coming out of shul or sitting in a pizza parlor. Then it's ok.

It's only because the Democratic convention is supposed to take place in Texas, right? Gives one perspective on their intent doesn't it. Liars and hypocrites, a leftists code of ethics.

This beheading is the real Islam form many of your people, and your home grown psychos. And has a lot more Koran support, scriptural support, than does any moderate Mohammedanism. Many Mohammedans rejoiced when Bin Ladin's crew knocked down the World Trade Center.

Scratch the surfaced of a moderate Mohammedan and he'll rant on about Israel and how it should be destroyed.

Too little, too late........I will never trust a live Muslim as long as I live, nor will my children, nor will my grandchildren and so on.

Talk is nothing, it's action that counts.

It is almost 3 years too late for outrage Mr Muslim.

Begging now won't help you avoid any "repurcussions" which may or may not arise at a later date perpetrated by distraught Americans.
