This morning President Bush met with his Cabinet in the White House and discussed the booming economic recovery and then answered questions from the press. Later he went to a hotel in Washington D.C. and addressed the National Federation of Independent Business 2004 Small Business Summit, and then boarded Air Force 1 for Spokane Washington for a fundraiser. First Lady Laura will be in Cleveland tomorrow.

I stumbled on to FreeRepublic from a link at another site. Just happened to be right after the carrier landing. I started reading the Dose at work and nearly got hysterical from laughing reading everyone's comments. From that moment on I was hooked. I wonder of church attendence is only partially correlated with the sort of strongly held faith that is like to lean most strongly towards Bush.

Haven't some of our modern day church establishments gone pretty far to the left? Perhaps others with more familiarity than I in various churches can comment. I'd be interested to know if particular churches are known for leaning strongly to one side or the other of the major issues facing us.

Some of the church news that makes the headlines I see sure sounds leftist to me.

GREETINGS DOSERS! Just got in from meeting the President! He is SOOOO handsome and he winked at me from the stage - I have a witness to that too - and he's so energetic and sweet. I was in the front of the rope line but towards the end so the anticipation was incredible as he made his way through the line. He chatted amiably with people, signed a few things, and tried to shake as many hands as possible. When he came to me, I shook his hand, looked him straight in the eye and said we were going to win Washington State for him this time. Then he gave me a hug and I got my picture taken with him - I had my arm around his shoulders and my other hand on his stomach! How weird is that!! I couldn't believe it but he was so friendly and accomodating. My friend and I had this whole script planned about how we were going to explain that we were delegates to the national convention and we want to do another fundraiser at our ranch, etc. Instead, I said, "I'm so sorry about Spotty!!" Say what? He was very sweet though and said, "well, what do you think about Barney?" I said Barney's cool but Spotty had a real hold on my heart and he said "me too...I miss her but she had 15 years." It was so bizarre - here I am talking to the PResident of the United States about his dogs!!! As usual, I didn't bring my picture of him with my two boys to sign (d'oh!) but I'll do that next time I guess. It was a hoot and man is he good looking. What a cutie and incredibly FIT! His speech was awesome - full of passion and pointed and you have no question where this guy stands. He had the crowd really wound up and ready for the next 4 months.

We also talked about the election and how this one will be done on election day and not like he said, "running a marathon and then having the guy tell you to do 10 more miles." I said I agreed because I couldn't survive another election like that although I did lose 12 pounds. He laughed at that! It all happened so fast but WOW!

I've got pictures and will post them as soon as I can. I had a heck of a time the last time so I may need some help.

I am reading Karen Hughes' _Ten Minutes from Normal_ and was very struck by how differently he looks since being inaugurated than he did while governor of Texas.

There is very clearly a grace and anointing that come on any person chosen to lead this country. God knows they need it and He gives it, even to the corrupt. Both the good and the not so good will have to give an accounting to the Lord for how they carried out their charge, and so He gives them the grace to do it according to His will.

Thank the good Lord that George W. Bush knows he has a charge to keep. He is certainly growing under the anointing.
