The 9/11 Commission is Wrong: Saddam and AQ colluded for over a decade
June 16, 2004 | Vanity

Posted on 06/16/2004 9:43:37 AM PDT by Peach

The 9/11 Commission is wrong. Dead wrong.

In the 90's, the mainstream press wrote extensively on the growing relationship between Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein.

In 1998, the Clinton administration noted that Osama bin Laden had agreed not to Iraq in exchange for WMD training.

Saddam knew that 9/11 was coming.

Links to the relationship between Iraq and AQ are listed below.

We know Saddam worked with the PLO and other terrorists, he funded them. He at LEAST knew that 9/11 was coming.

Less than two months before 9/11/01, the state-controlled Iraqi newspaper “Al-Nasiriya” carried a column headlined, “American, an Obsession called Osama Bin Ladin.” (July 21, 2001)

In the piece, Baath Party writer Naeem Abd Muhalhal predicted that bin Laden would attack the US “with the seriousness of the Bedouin of the desert about the way he will try to bomb the Pentagon after he destroys the White House.”

The same state-approved column also insisted that bin Laden “will strike America on the arm that is already hurting,” and that the US “will curse the memory of Frank Sinatra every time he hears his songs” – an apparent reference to the Sinatra classic, “New York, New York”.

The 9/11 Commission is a COMPLETE JOKE

A partisan joke. And unless Bush gets out in front of this, he may well suffer the consequences.

Nice - Anyone who thinks Saddam and O.B.L. did not work together has his head in the sand, what, do you think the Iranians work alone? They all work together, they are all collude - Syrians, Libyans and all the rest of that part of the middle east.

Mayber stating the obvious, but, since Cheyney and Bush have both reinforced that there is a link between the two, is that signaling that the 9/11 commission will suggest that there is not?

You are more than welcome.

It is my contribution to our troops because I believe their cause is directly linked to 9/11.

It is my contribution to the president and his re-election campaign but he isn't using the information available to freepers, let alone available to his administration.

I've written the administration about it but they aren't listening to me. LOL

It's even in the 9/11 Commission's OWN REPORT:

http://apnews.myway.com/article/20040616/D83860A00.html
-----
"While Saddam dispatched a senior Iraqi intelligence official to Sudan to meet with bin Laden in 1994, the commission said it had not turned up evidence of a "collaborative relationship."
-----
"Bin Laden is said to have requested space to establish training camps, as well as assistance in procuring weapons, but Iraq apparently never responded," the report said. "There have been reports that contacts between Iraq and al-Qaida also occurred" after bin Laden moved his operations to Afghanistan in 1996, "but they do not appear to have resulted in a collaborative relationship," it said.
-----
"Two senior bin Laden associates have adamantly denied that any ties existed between al-Qaida and Iraq," the report said."
-----
SO - the 9/11 commission finds Al Qaeda requested to meet with Iraqi officials, and they did - in 1994 AND 1996 - but that's not a "collaborative relationship"?

The President of the United States says it IS a "collaborative relationship", so the 9/11 commission calls him a liar. Senior Al-Qaeda officers say it IS NOT a "collaborative relationship" and the 9/11 commission quotes them as reliable sources - the ONLY "evidence" presented that this is NOT a "collaborative relationship".

Bastards.
