I'd rather listen to someone drag their fingernails across a chalkboard for three hours than listen to his show.

I got into listening occasionally to this guy in 2000-2002 on late night radio while driving. He is really amazing. I works because there are always people that turn the dial and get his show without knowing the background-scheme and get so heated up they
have to call. Once he has them on the air, he can play with their minds with the interplay of his characters in such a way that the caller almost self-destructs right on the air trying to stomp down on the fictitious guest.
It is incredible.

I'm just sorry we don't get Hendrie in DFW any longer.
I loved his show, and laughed my friggin' ass off at the doofus callers who didn't get the joke.
(My wife didn't get the joke for two weeks; I finally had to enlighten her one night when she came in just raising hell about the way Hendrie was treating one of his "guests.")

It's for the Jerry Springer crowd.
But there are socially-redeeming parts.
A few weeks ago, he had a screamer of a "guest" who was exposing the real truth:
Canada has simply been a protectorate of the USA since the end of WWII.
The "guest" spun such an incredible tale of conspiracy theory of how this had happened
(involving Dubya, Papa Bush, Churchill, the Saudis, etc.), I told a cousin
(former Canadian) that I bet some of this gets repeated as fact on Democratic Underground.com.
And some of this social commentary and sniping at The French are screamers as well.

"I'm just sorry we don't get Hendrie in DFW any longer."
That's what my cousin in North Dallas said for about a year until Hendrie's mother station
got on the net:
http://www.kfi640.com/main.html
KFI is also good for a few other shows:
Captain Dale Dye (USMC, ret.), Sunday 5-7PM PacTime, always with some good "boots on the
ground" perspective about military affairs
John Douglas' "MindHunter" show, Saturday 7-10PM PacTime...not for the squeamish
as the former FBI profiler spills the beans on the sickos he's seen.
The Jesus Show; Sunday morning 6-8AM PacTime. OK, this one sounds hideously sacrilegious (sp?)
right off the bat. But don't write it off until you give it a listen and also
consider that it's in Los Angeles...on a secular station.

Yes, with all the radio choices we are blessed with here in DFW, you'd think a station would have picked him back up(dump Savage for him!) Perhaps he is too blue and raw for the market. In fact I usually would tune him out because of that. But I am so drawn to incredible talent that I'd keep checking back in occassionally. He really is amazing.

One can get this guy on the nightime AM dial in the Central Fl. area, he's hilarious. It is truly amazing how gullible people can be when they're responding to something so outrageous that it should, but doesn't, raise a flag of obvious incredulity. I've laughed so hard while driving that I thought I needed to pull over and calm down to avoid becoming a road hazard.
I saw him recently on the Dennis Miller show. He is a sort of slovenly fellow personally. He dressed for the tv appearance by wearing a clean tee-shirt and blue jeans worn only a week or so while he slouched and seemed to be singularly disinterested in participating in the discussion at hand.

I like the pipsqueak military academy kid (R.C. Collins?) and the Teds of Beverly Hills bits.
It's always good to hear a real military fellow/gal call in and set Collins straight
about the real world!

Yep.
I about freaked out when I heard a Cortislim commercial on the Salem Radio stations
in Los Angeles (KKLA and KRLA).
(he's not identified on those ads...he just does a voice-over testimonial...
I almost said "no, that can't be Hendrie on this station"!)

He is pretty damn funny. Once he did a bit with the "guest" being a black man who felt that the only way blacks could make it in the world was if they went back to "shucking and jiving" and "making the white man laugh". I laughed so hard at the outraged callers I almost died.

That President of the Western Estates Homeowners Association is so danged accurate, I can hardly wait for the sun to go down to see if I can get "More Stimulating Talk Radio" on nitetime skip conditions.
Then I wait through all the other illustrations of absurdity by being absurd till I hear "Bobbie" condescendingly say "uh huh... uh huh... uh huh..." as "she" pauses for the angry outbursts of the outraged caller!!!
"Her" arrogance is so true to life, it's uncanny!!! It's his best "guest" character, by far and away because it's so true to life!!!
At least one media/entertainer/Democrat gets and remembers 9-11!!!
