I got into listening occasionally to this guy in 2000-2002 on late night radio while driving. He is really amazing. I works because there are always people that turn the dial and get his show without knowing the background-scheme and get so heated up they
have to call. Once he has them on the air, he can play with their minds with the interplay of his characters in such a way that the caller almost self-destructs right on the air trying to stomp down on the fictitious guest.
It is incredible.

I'm just sorry we don't get Hendrie in DFW any longer.
I loved his show, and laughed my friggin' ass off at the doofus callers who didn't get the joke.
(My wife didn't get the joke for two weeks; I finally had to enlighten her one night when she came in just raising hell about the way Hendrie was treating one of his "guests.")

Thank you for posting this. I've listened to Hendrie for years on replays 10 pm to 1 am eastern.
His characters are all around us.

I love Phil Hendrie. I was quite sad when he went off the air in Houston - and to make room for what? Savage and Hannity? Yee.
