TWISTED: LA Times Poll Had Sample With 38% Democrats, 25% Republicans Tue Jun 15 2004 10:13:47 ET
Sen. John Kerry "has taken big lead," according "to an L.A. Times poll."
But the Times poll that showed Kerry "beating Bush by 7 points" has created a controversy over whether the poll's sample accurately reflects the population as whole, ROLL CALL reports on Tuesday.
"Not counting independents, the Times' results were calculated on a sample made up of 38 percent Democrats and 25 percent Republicans -- a huge and unheard-of margin," ROLL CALL claims.
Developing...
John Fund had an article on Opinion Journal that explained how polling is not longer relevant. The changes in communication and the polarization of the population makes it almost impossible to get an accurate sample. Polls are nothing but a campaign tool to influence voters.
And then I think Rush went on the next day to say that he had someone investigate the figures behind the poll and explained what they had done and how Bush is really ahead in the poll.
next they'll only poll other journalists and kerry will be at 89%.
I don't know if this poll is inaccurate or not...
Whereas we know that there are more Reps than Dems (by a slight margin) that are ALIVE AND KICKING, you must also factor in the dead Dem vote. A sizeable voting block.
(Cue Monty Python)
"Bring out your dead!"
The LA Slimes lied? 'Magine that...
Yes -- I remember reading that very post. I just don't remember who did it. :-(
Perhaps this should be rephrased to
The problem is that Zogby had inside information in 2000 because he predicted (actually knew) that there would be massive democrat voter fraud .
What did you expect from the LA Times, honesty and objectivity! They have no clue what those words mean! You want to know the real deal. All you needed to do was to tune in last week to the Ronald Reagan memorial ceremonies, and witness the hundreds of thousands of loyal Americans waiting for mega hours to say goodbye and honor Ronald Reagan. That's the real America. Once again, here are the November, 2004 numbers as they will finalize on election day: GW Bush=57%, John Kerry=40%, Ralph Nader=3%. Pubbies will hold the house, picking up half a dozen seats or so, Pubbies will hold the senate with a gain of three. Bank on it! However, for this to happen, you, and I mean you, have to go out and vote for GW Bush! Get with the program!
The best part of this poll is even though the sample is phony, they gave Bush a 51% approval rating!
If the majority of the respondants are Dems and Ho Chi Minh could only muster that margin, does that not reveal much to the real pollsters? Yes? No?
STM, if LA Times is working this hard early in the game to foul the water, there is big trouble. Is the swiftboat sinking?
Frankly I think these kinds of polls will help Dubya. They will make the dems complacent, and we know better and will go vote.
Thinking the same thing....Good motivation to go get out the vote!
Yup!
How could she be on H&C and in my dreams at the same time? Pictures please!!!!!
Raise hell?!! That little angel?! He's a doll! I bet he's dad's pride and joy!
If their sample had more 'Pubs, they would have simply discarded it.
Take comfort in that the L.A. Times and the Chicago Tribune company are losing revenue since advertisers are packing up and leaving these rag-tag papers.
They have become shills for all liberal causes and their readers know it.
I won't read their car or restaurant reviews since I believe them to be rigged and highly biased against Bush!
Without being deferential to the Los Angeles Times, wouldn't the country's voter registration be about 38 percent Democrat (or even more)? I know that it is 66 percent in Louisiana, which is expected to be a Bush state unless Kerry chooses the Louisiana icon John Breaux for v.p.
