"Something I've been pondering in the back of my mind all evening: are we witnessing a rebirth of the America we grew up in, or are we seeing the symbolic burial of that nation that the leftists have tried to kill?" Yes......I think so.....we are at the cusp of history...remember this day well.

Have been wondering along the same lines. . .
Seems like we have passed through a window to our past, for sure.
Also seems that we needed to do just that; and at this time; and so perhaps Ronald Reagan's timing was as good as it ever was; and his leaving is as important a gift to America as his arriving onto our political landscape.
America has truly been lifted up; and think many have just been 'wakened up'; with this walk back to Reagan's America, which; with this wonderful memory and history lesson; now feels like a fresh step forward.
I surely hope so. . .

Mrs. Reagan said.... "I don't want to leave him..." and she broke down.... that was it for me. Oh, she *did* say that! I thought she did and I was a puddle on the floor. I cannot imagine how she found the strength to get up and walk away... it is beyond me.

Thanks for that info. I wasn't sure how he was selected.
He sure did do a wonderful job fulfilling his duties. I'm sure Mrs. Reagan appreciated him being there.

Especially the military, straight Christian talk, Jesus, hymns, they got to be going nuts.
See
this thread. The left isn't just going nuts, they've gone and poured gasoline over themselves. Let's light the match.

You are right this week was great. Now when you think of America, you really don't think of great pagentry etc. This is for the royalty in other countries. But I don't believe any other country has anything that even remotely compares to our Military performing a State Funeral for our presidents. I bet millions in other countries watched with envy.

No, WaWA was merely uninformed.
Somewhere on Fox (I think) I heard yesterday that she was going West. It may, in fact have been the day before.
Lady Thatcher has been in town here for a number of days....wise since she could gather strength.
Shows you how well you can trust those other elites.

I doubt it. The actors who are getting work are the ones who are spouting the leftist slant. The Lord of the Rings movies....Viggo Mortenson is very vocal about being anti-Iraq war, a real pukey lefty. Ditto with Anthony Serkis (Gollum) and Sean Astin (Sam) who's been spouting at interviews that he's a Democrat. They're all against the Iraq war and didn't want their film to be taken as a pro-war statement. If you promise to keep a secret [I figure no one from the Dark Side is gonna bother reading down in here Post 3000 territory], then here goes: The wife of Gimli, son of Gloin, is a Freeper.

"'The spontaneous displays of love and respect the country showed to President and Mrs. Reagan must rankle the left.'"
Love of country ought to be the norm! I cannot believe how hateful and disrespectful the left has been towards one of this countries greatest presidents, Ronald Reagan.

makes you realize how much more intelligent the generations that preceeded us were. I dunno... yeah there is a lot of fluff music and fluff Christian literature being written, but these things are cyclical, just like Israel falling away, repenting and turning to God, and falling away again, over and over. There is some good stuff from the faithful remnant if you look for it. There always is. And if there isn't, or you can't find it, well then, "My Grace is Sufficient for Thee."

Since Rush's divorce was being announced at the time I doubt he would have been there. Didn't see him.Rush said on the radio this past week he never met Ronald Reagan, so I doubt he would have gotten an invite regardless.

Buchanan lost it sometime ago like the 2000 election where he said the people that voted for him really voted for Gore. Why he wants to be liked by RATs is beyond me Pat earlier this week, was commenting when Peggy Noonan was paying her respects in the Rotunda, and said something to the effect that she worked under him, implying he was the boss. No matter that Peggy Noonan's words and speeches will reasonate far more than Pat's tirades.
Pat and Al Haig have the same delusions of grandeur, IMO.
