I knew the media would pickup on it. It was really the only sour note of this whole thing..and it is going to resonate.
And I am sure Ron Jr knew exactly what he was doing.
>>Hearing the horse whinny as the jets began to fly over was a great little unscripted moment. <<
Absolutely.
I am kicking myself for not taping this part (I ran out of tape with the funeral this morning).
The minister was just breathtakingly good. A conservative Presby pastor.
I agree totally. It was as if he was right there, stroking the wind. No ill health, no worries, total peace. I am happy he is home.
Good night all. It has been a tremendous week. I have never been happier to be America. Tonight I love all you Freepres.
Well .. that didn't take long
No he isn't.
He came from South Africa, which has a lot of whites. If this guy is black, I am Charley Brown.
At least Patti's story had a cute punchline at the end...
Ronnie's "earlobe fetish" story? LOL -- I was cringing myself. After that I was bracing for the "and Dad liked to wear red high heels around the house" anecdote.
My father was telling me about this just today. He said that the men & women in the honor guards did not have any other job.
He only served as an honor guard once during all the years of military service in the Navy, when they were ordered to bury some of the dead on Fuji during WWII. I have a picture of him during the burial, absolutely awesome!!
The thing that impressed me most during this week was the honor guard. What a special group of men & women. Makes me so proud to ne an American!!!
Since Rush's divorce was being announced at the time I doubt he would have been there. Didn't see him.
Wasn't that missing man formation a tearjerker too?
What other President has changed the face of our planet as our Ronnie has? He reached out and touched the face of God, and in doing so, changed the history and map that his predecessors had doomed us.to.
President George W. Bush is in the process of following President Reagan's example. Let us support him with all our might, in order to support Ronald Reagan's dream of a world at peace, whre every person could live free.
And this aspect was so very wonderful! I was not surprised, but even I thought tonight--by week's end--might not find many along the route. WOW, to see the throngs---and to see the *cars stopped on the highway*. It was a blessing for Nancy in particular, but all of us, I think.
I am reluctant to tune in talking heads. I have stayed with CSPAN. Besides, my husband was working today so he didn't get to see it. The music is so soothing.
Me, too... everything was so perfectly beautiful ... and American, too - a loving and respectful tribute to the man who loved this country so.
Look at President/mrs Fords expressions, did the evil ones pass a little gas????
Amen to your post 3054! Same here!
The evidence of a Bush mean-streak would be what?
You know it baby, it's going to be epic!
Buchanan lost it sometime ago like the 2000 election where he said the people that voted for him really voted for Gore. Why he wants to be liked by RATs is beyond me.
He should be ashamed to want an impeached President to speak. First of all he should know enough to realize that it was President and Mrs. Reagan's wish who they had speak. It was reported that Pres Reagan asked Pres Bush #41 to speak in 1981 at his funeral. Clinton hasn't been President for 3 1/2 years and Buchanan and others need to get over it!
No....actually PCUSA.
I dunno - I'm reserving judgement on that. The last thing we need is for the media to play that one up.
