There is a separate thread dealing with Ron Jr's comments. Why did so many here allow him to hijack this thread?

Thanks for your fabulous photo, and give your baby son a kiss from his Freeper family. All who witnessed this weeks events pray that the America your son will grow to know, will again have the honor and dignity that Ronald Reagan showed us could be ours again.

I think you are right -- I heard some of his detail had returned for this week. One guy in particular had been with him until he no longer went out. Seeing the salutes really get to me.

C-SPAN is the best. ZERO commentary and GREAT camera work.

Agreed. As far as I am concerned, Congress should de-fund PBS and send their check to the real public service channel, C-SPAN.

It was exactly that, and he said it pointedly.

Why do people insist on ruining a great threat by dwelling on what was done or not done? Get over it and get back to the tribute of a great man.

All in all I think Patti's words were the most touching, and appropriate.

Now what happens?

I thought tradition said he had to be in the ground by sunset. We're way past that point.

Maranatha music is for those who want to be entertained. It came in with congregational applause, poor manners and sloppy dress during the pentecostal movement of the sixties. Groups of folksingers crowd the pulpit and overwhelm the congregation. No worship in that.Fundamentalists sold out and bought into it.
Anything to get a crowd on Sundays.
Evidently devout, reverent congregational singing is for "old fogies." That is one reason I left the local church to the "contemporary" crowd. Didn't want to be "judgemental".

Isn't it amazing that all these people want to pay their respects. I should be going to bed, but I can't turn this off - just amazing!

I so understand!

Here is another way to look at it. Praising Reagan led to some tough jabs at Carter and that couldn't have been easy for him.

But there is something so tacky to me to jab a President as Ron Jr did when the President just gave your father a wonderful commentary on the world stage.

"God Bless America" is a blatantly Christian hymn?

The last time I looked, the late Irving Berlin was Jewish.

Doesn't matter. You know how these left-wing idiots think. Just like the Pledge of Allegiance, God is mentioned and they don't like it.
