I am disgusted. Though if I hadnt been reading this thread it would have gone over my head. The mandate part is a clear jab at Bush.

I muted the TV when Ron came on. I expected something dumb from him and I didn't even want to hear it.

"Who is to say he wasn't swiping at Kerry?"

Would Kerry ever act or claim any "mandate" from God?

Seriously...

They all are their father's children.

All can speak and it was beautiful.

That is a gift!

Good Bye President Reagan!
We loved you!

Today, at the Cathedral, it was fitting for a president.

Tonight, on that canyon, it is fitting for a husband and father.

I stood up as well. It's a beautiful flag.

One of the hardest things I ever did was walk away from my parents caskets at the grave side. I was there when both of them died respectively. I knew they weren't really there but leaving them behind was awful.

God Bless Nancy, her children and the USA.

He's one of the best at what he does! No doubt about that.

It pains me that Ronald Reagan's adopted son is more worthy of being his father's namesake than the child he bore with Nancy Reagan.

Being a ditto is never good, but it's especially grueling when you have to live up to the reputation of a father like Ronald Reagan Sr.

I don't believe that his son has ever earned the respect that's connoted with that name.

While Bob Hope, Frank Sinatra, Barry Goldwater, et. al., may have had sons who did not quite live up to expectations, I don't think that any of them fell so far as the first biological son of Ronald Reagan.

I think that the old Eisenhower joke about appointing Earl Warren to the U.S. Supreme Court is apt in this situation.

All three children did very well, but I think it was Michael who took a slap at his remaining siblings when saying that he and Maureen would be in heaven. He was on a talk show the other day being quite frantic of Patti and Ron's conversion. This was not the time nor place for chastisement.

I think he took swipes at W. and Michael.

We may be overreacting. Michael patted him on the leg when he was done and seemed to appreciate it. Thats good enough for me.

Hey Spec!

I'd read that he was mostly mediocre at his various careers.

I swear I didn't hear what he said that was objectionable. You weren't the only one.

I may have been overreacting, but read the posts from about 1800 on to read what some of us saw and then decide for yourself.

"Amazing Grace"

..something Ron lacked...and he was doing decent till then...he sounds like Keith Carradine as a narrator.

well, it's his dad....guess he can say what he wants...even if tacky.

Patti did well enough....still a bit new agey but she has progressed from hippie chick.

Michael exudes earnestness about his daddy...hard to watch.

<< "Divine Responsibility"...a dig at the Right >>

A classless dig at the Right, which has poured deserved adoration and respect on his father, and heartfelt condolences and love on his mother and the kids, all week.

I've never heard anything that would suggest he "got" what his Dad was about.

Dan
