"We in the media failed the nation by not reporting these things about Reagan at the time.
"I have learned a lot about this side of Ronald Reagan...things I never new before. So I, too, have failed America."
[paraphrased]
More..
Bernard Shaw: "Can I say something that touches on a very sensitive issue? The news media, and how we failed to thoroughly cover and communicate the very essences we're talking about possessed by Ronald Reagan. What I've been reading and what I've been hearing, I did not get during his two terms in office. Or did I miss something?" Wolf Blitzer: "I think you're on to something, Bernie, uh.. "
Shaw: "I think we failed our viewers, listeners and readers to an appreciable extent. I can't quantify it, but I'll put it there. Because I certainly missed a lot."

Right! But still they know everything so much better than we do (eyelashes batting). Perhaps Wolf will place a call with the NYT for further instructions :)
Dang it, I've dropped into an alternate universe again. I hate it when that happens. Any new Gore administration scandals?
Shaw was speaking of his experience as they brought President Reagan's body down the center aisle of the cathedral. He stated that as it approached, he was moving his hand to his heart, but as a former marine, almost automatically, of its own volition, it instead went into a salute.
Exactly! Folks are too busy trying to outdo one another with clever flying pig animations than to ask what you've just asked...lol.
Few things on this site more annoying than a misplaced/too generic, non-specific source link. Sure would be nice to read this article, but I for one sure can't find it so far.
How about telling the American people about the good things that are being done in Iraq right now ?

Well said, my feelings exactly.
When you are a monument to the quota system of Affirmative Action, you merely read (if capable) only those things which are placed in front of you. So Bernie, you didn't miss it. It was never placed in front of you and as the standard of journalism is today, you only acted the same as Jayson Blair!
Now that's a shocker!!
Thank you!
I loved the speeches, but this is just fabulous!
I was thinking what could top the tribute, other than the permanent memory (on tape) of the vile expressions on the Hildebeest's face with the sleeping Bill?
Oh, yes! It was that Wolf-n-Judy Didn't Know. When didn't they know it? :)
There is no article. These were off-the-cuff remarks made by their on-air people.
Try asking again in piglatin. That's a language they may understand.
Bernie, too, don't forget Bernie. At least he's man enough to admit CNN failed the American people.
Ah, thanks for the clarification. Is there a video link to this exchange, then?
If not, why on earth was cnn.com listed as a source?
And to think, Bernie, George H. W. Bush actually begged you to get out of Baghdad. Sheesh, miracles never cease.
By the way I apologize..in my haste before I said Goldberg.. obviously I meant Shaw.
I especially apologize to Bernard Goldberg. :-)
Because it was on live CNN tv.
These mendacious bastards, like Shaw and Blitzer, and ALL of the leftist SOBs at CNN and the major media generally, will say and do ANYTHING to advance their malevolent cause. It is said Satan himself inserts a minor truth in his web of lies to further confuse his victims. That's what these disingenuous charlatans are doing. They'll throw out any phrase or statement they must to entangle their viewers in their clutches, after which they'll turn on their dishonestly captured audience with a vengeance. I NEVER listen to or watch these monsters at CNN. And I've given up tuning in the alphabet networks, too.
Thank you for confirming what my lying eyes told me I saw.
