"We in the media failed the nation by not reporting these things about Reagan at the time.
"I have learned a lot about this side of Ronald Reagan...things I never new before. So I, too, have failed America."
[paraphrased]
More..
Bernard Shaw: "Can I say something that touches on a very sensitive issue? The news media, and how we failed to thoroughly cover and communicate the very essences we're talking about possessed by Ronald Reagan. What I've been reading and what I've been hearing, I did not get during his two terms in office. Or did I miss something?" Wolf Blitzer: "I think you're on to something, Bernie, uh.. "
Shaw: "I think we failed our viewers, listeners and readers to an appreciable extent. I can't quantify it, but I'll put it there. Because I certainly missed a lot."

Well even a blind pig can find an acorn once in a while.
We must be getting close to "the last days".
Yow!
How about telling the American people about the good things that are being done in Iraq right now ?
In the words of Rupert, "My teeth are gonna fall out!"
And ol Joe Stalin is providing dynamo power to Mother Russia!
Wow!
What is more remarkable to me is Wolf Blitzer's response: "I think you're on to something here, Bernie... uh"... ??
That is shocking!!!
)))
On another network, I heard this:
~ 1.52, Jennings was talking about a meeting he had had in Moscow with Russian dissident Sharovsky (sp?) during Reagan's presidency. At the end of the story, Jennings said that the dissident and his wife were eventually allowed to emigrate and that they came to live HERE IN THE SOVIET UNION!! Wishful thinking, Peter?
Maybe he should consider applying the lesson he learned to his reporting of our current great president.
Who really cares what Bernie Shaw says anymore.....remember he was the dude who would not furnish info concerning Saddam.
Maybe he should consider applying the lesson he learned to his reporting of our current great president.

Here! Here!
Yeah, they can make up for it by promising not to lie about President Bush any more.
(Waiting...waiting...pigs flying...snowballs in Hell...still waiting...)
In other news, the temperature in Hell dipped to record lows...
It's just that he isn't broadcasting for CNN anymore..otherwise they'd cut his mike and his salary.
I am nevertheless gratified he sees the venom that was/is in the press towards Reagan.
