TEL AVIV, Israel, June 11 (UPI) -- A Palestinian couple frustrated over their inability to marry approached Israeli lines hoping to be shot together, it was reported Friday.

Soldiers suspected the couple were not militants and held their fire, the Yediot Aharonot newspaper said on its Web site.

The couple in their late 20s have been friends for six years and upon questioning, told officials they could not marry because of a dispute between their families, a military source told United Press International. They decided suicide was their only option.

They approached the Kfar Darom settlement early Wednesday. The woman dropped her bag when soldiers approached and hugged the man when soldiers pointed their guns at them. Soldiers asked the woman to move aside so they could search the man, but she would not let go of him until shots were fired in the air.

After searching and questioning the pair, the army released them, confident they were not affiliated with any terrorist organizations.

GOD has as many names as there are languages. there is only one creator of the heavens and earth, mankind, and all that exist. only one.

where in the world did you get that from? LAH means GOD. al means one. ALLAH means one god.

Unless you think one of His names is Flipper Kerry, the Muslims don't worship the same G-d as the Christians do. True, there is only one of Him, but we don't worship the same one. Therefore, either the Muslims or the Christians are wrong.

Why Flipper? Because the Christian G-d has declared Christ to be G-d. The Muslim G-d declares Christ to be a mere prophet.

Only for Flipper Kerry can medals be ribbons and ribbons be medals. For G-d, what He says is what He means.

Shalom.

I don't know what Bible you read, but it sure isn't like the ones the rest of us read.

Oh oh. Heads up. Better check out the answer to number three See #50).
While I understand that most religions have ancient roots and thus in their earliest writings they may reflect our early prejudices, fears and ignorance but it seems that only Islam refuses to grow with humanity and our understanding of man.

Mr. Black Muslim:

Please name me the church attended by believers that are instructed to kill others, women and children iclude. That allows and justifies, lies, rape, murder and slavery - including those of their own kind - if it benefits their cause/"religion". I can think of only one.

And regarding #3: What G-d demands the extinction of an entire race one of which, named Jesus, was a member of that race but also, I believe, considered to be a prophet of your god?

so timothy mcviegh, and the KKK are the role models of christianity?

That is about like asking when did you stop beating your wife. It is a stupid question. Mcviegh and KKK members are most likely not Christians, as the Bible defines it, so they are not role models at all. You can, however, think whatever you like. I will not lose any sleep over it.

Just said that you bring incite into this discussion.

LOL, are you saying this tongue in cheek? I assume you are, because "incite" would be like inciting to riot, where "insight" means wisdom and knowledge. Which do you mean here?

It's hardly PC to ask for restraint against the use of racial epithets.

Of course it is. And in addition it's simply an opinion.
The "sandmaggot" label is totally deserved, and renewed on a continuing basis.

Individuals as well as groups deserve treatment according to how they act, not what they say. And the sandmaggots remind us daily that theirs is not a random occasional frenzy of murder.

So you say.
Remember, God spelled backwards is DOG, where do dogs
go when they die?

"That’s not really true. In fact I have yet to hear any Muslim condone that. Think about it, that wasn’t in the name of any god. That was the work of the devil, and again these people who did this were known to drink and hang out in strip bars, not pray or attend prayer. They were not Muslims plain and simple."

What’s not true, Muslim Leaders did come forward and condemn them? I would like to know who and when since I was really watching for it, and I must have missed it. As for whether or not they were Muslim at heart, they professed it, over the radio as they were going in, and since no Muslim leaders immediately disavowed them, it looks bad. I know people of many religions. The fact (Unless you can refute my observation) that no Muslim leader disavowed their actions, coupled with the fact that they were professing to be Muslim means that either A. Muslims agree with what they did or B. No Muslim leader was astute enough to know he should step up to a mike and say “That was Bad!” I think this is the crux of why Americans think Muslims are “Out To Get us” and why this is being perceived as a religious war. When Muslim leaders start to publicly support Lawful behavior, oppose Terrorism, and support Equal rights regardless of religion, then opinions may shift, until then, people will say to you “Who are you, why should I believe you speak for the Muslim religion?” And you will have trouble getting us to believe that you do indeed represent “True” Islam.

Salaam and good luck

Then this website is certainly for you.

Arafat looked like he had seen a ghost and donated blood, and there are many verified examples of Palestinians showing sympathy over the attacks.

Why don't you just shut the F*** up?

We haven't forgotten your stupidity.

Please give us a link or two of "Palestinians showing sympathy" for the murdered pregnant mother and her little girls (including the infant strapped in the car seat shot at point blank range).

A link more believable than Jack Kelley's fiction.

I have wanted to ask a question to a Muslim since Sept 11 01, perhaps you can answer it for me. As I recall the Pope, Russia, and even China (arguably our worst enemy of the time) all expressed condolences, and outrage over the atrocities of that day within 48 hours. The first Muslim of stature to say anything even hinting that they were not pleased with the events was months later.
That's an urban legend:

Kingdom condemns attacks on United States

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has condemned the "regrettable and inhuman bombings and attacks" which took place today at the World Trade Center in Manhattan, New York, and the Pentagon building in Washington DC. An official statement issued today said that Saudi Arabia strongly condemns such acts, which contravene all religious values and human civilized concepts; and extends sincere condolences to the families of the victims, to U.S. President George W. Bush and to the U.S. people in general. The statement stressed the Kingdom's steadfast position condemning all forms of terrorism, and its ongoing cooperation with the international community to combat it.

Embassy of Jordan in Washington, D.C. strongly condemns heinous attacks against U.S.

The Embassy of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in Washington D.C. strongly condemns the vicious, immoral and inhumane terrorist attacks against the World Trade Center and the Pentagon on the morning of September 11th 2001. The Embassy expresses its deep sorrow for the innocent victims who perished in these heinous and senseless attacks and extends its condolences to the bereaved families and friends.

The people of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan stands strongly by the people of the United States of America in these very difficult and sad times.

The leaders of Egypt, Pakistan, Syria, the Palestinian Authority, Libya, snd Iran also immediately condemned the attacks.

I don't know about the various Protestant faiths, but the Roman Catholic Church officially recognizes Muslims as worshipping the same God they do.

As I said to blackmuslim, it's not about the translations, it's about the Character.

Allah is not just the word "god" translated into Arabic. Allah has a very different character than the One who revealed Himself to Abraham and Moses, and a very different character than the One who revealed Himself in Jesus.

They can not be different names for the same being.

Shalom.

Abraham, Moses, and Jesus are all considered prophets in the Islamic faith. They add things to what they said. Theologically speaking, the relationship is much like Christianity to Judaism, or Mormonism to Christianity. At least that's how the Catholic Church sees it. Other churches may have other views.

Some Muslims pervert their faith, but so do some Christians.
