TEL AVIV, Israel, June 11 (UPI) -- A Palestinian couple frustrated over their inability to marry approached Israeli lines hoping to be shot together, it was reported Friday.
Soldiers suspected the couple were not militants and held their fire, the Yediot Aharonot newspaper said on its Web site.
The couple in their late 20s have been friends for six years and upon questioning, told officials they could not marry because of a dispute between their families, a military source told United Press International. They decided suicide was their only option.
They approached the Kfar Darom settlement early Wednesday. The woman dropped her bag when soldiers approached and hugged the man when soldiers pointed their guns at them. Soldiers asked the woman to move aside so they could search the man, but she would not let go of him until shots were fired in the air.
After searching and questioning the pair, the army released them, confident they were not affiliated with any terrorist organizations.

Unless you think one of His names is Flipper Kerry, the Muslims don't worship the same G-d as the Christians do. True, there is only one of Him, but we don't worship the same one. Therefore, either the Muslims or the Christians are wrong.

What’s not true, Muslim Leaders did come forward and condemn them? I would like to know who and when since I was really watching for it, and I must have missed it. As for whether or not they were Muslim at heart, they professed it, over the radio as they were going in, and since no Muslim leaders immediately disavowed them, it looks bad. I know people of many religions. The fact (Unless you can refute my observation) that no Muslim leader disavowed their actions, coupled with the fact that they were professing to be Muslim means that either A. Muslims agree with what they did or B. No Muslim leader was astute enough to know he should step up to a mike and say “That was Bad!” I think this is the crux of why Americans think Muslims are “Out To Get us” and why this is being perceived as a religious war. When Muslim leaders start to publicly support Lawful behavior, oppose Terrorism, and support Equal rights regardless of religion, then opinions may shift, until then, people will say to you “Who are you, why should I believe you speak for the Muslim religion?” And you will have trouble getting us to believe that you do indeed represent “True” Islam.

I have wanted to ask a question to a Muslim since Sept 11 01, perhaps you can answer it for me. As I recall the Pope, Russia, and even China (arguably our worst enemy of the time) all expressed condolences, and outrage over the atrocities of that day within 48 hours. The first Muslim of stature to say anything even hinting that they were not pleased with the events was months later.That's an urban legend:

I don't know about the various Protestant faiths, but the Roman Catholic Church officially recognizes Muslims as worshipping the same God they do.Abraham, Moses, and Jesus are all considered prophets in the Islamic faith. They add things to what they said. Theologically speaking, the relationship is much like Christianity to Judaism, or Mormonism to Christianity. At least that's how the Catholic Church sees it. Other churches may have other views.As I said to blackmuslim, it's not about the translations, it's about the Character.
Allah is not just the word "god" translated into Arabic. Allah has a very different character than the One who revealed Himself to Abraham and Moses, and a very different character than the One who revealed Himself in Jesus.
They can not be different names for the same being.
