I believe it WILL happen and soon. The liberals will scream and cry and run in circles, especially if some innocents are hit by accident. But if the overall result is a failed terror attack, the libs will run for cover. The laws may not get repealed, but I seriously doubt any new ones will be passed and it wouldn't surprise me if new right to carry laws were passed or federal reciprocity legislation endorsed by both parties....the Dems suddenly getting an epiphany as it were.

Good evening TM'ers. We travelled today by car from SW Connecticut to S. Central PA. We decided to be "brave" and- instead of skirting NYC- drove over the GWB. Here are some observations from our trip this afternoon.
There were 2 AWACS flying over NYC. We didn't see the Predator this time. Before getting to NYC- around Westchester, there were several very large, military helicopters.
We took 78 West. West of Allentown, we spotted 2 more very large military helicopters. Wonder if there could be a nuclear plant near that location?
We didn't see any helicopters flying near TMI- but it quite foggy.
Also- On Friday the 11th, there were ongoing flights throughout the day and evening in SW CT (Fairfield County). On Saturday, Sunday, and today- virtually none.
I'm led to wonder if we successfully stopped some kind of AQ attack planned for the 11th. Recall that one AQ post that stated on the 9th that the destruction of the US would begin within hours. I'm guessing that the transit of Venus, coupled with that message- were the Go-Codes.
Also- the GPS signals have been gammed since June 10 in Alaska and Ontario. That particular test is said to end on June 16th.
Thankfully I can stay with TM for at least an hour or so! Hope all of you are well- I have missed being here!
Any horrific updates?

Prayerfully you are both right. When the election is over I will rest a little better.
BUT this could be the GO signal OUR COMPLACENCY. I think a lot of there propaganda is praying for end times I believe we haven't even come close to unveiling anything they might do and if when catch them we let them go.

Hi AP- just reading your post about the 5 explosions.....hmmmmm

Has it been confirmed which Columbus mall was targeted? During our vacation last week, we had dinner Wednesday night at a restaurant at Polaris Fashion Place ... that's the mall I've been hearing was the Somali's target. Yikes!

And another that made the news in washington state a week or so ago.
Though it's true there are several meteor showers going on now, the same could be said for any month of the year. there are meteor showers all the time.
But, this is what is alarming about these reports. There are very very very rarely firsthand reports of low level meteors, low enough to go boom anyway.
Think about it, 20%, or there abouts of our regular posters have seen or heard one of these in the last 4 days. If this were even close to normal, everyone of us would have experienced several of these over our lifetime. It would be a common everyday occurance, meteors would be smashing into houses weekly.
This does not happen. Until now, I've never known anyone that has heard a meteor go boom, now in less than a week, I know 5 people that have. This is not common, not even close to being common.
Meteor showers are common, meteors that go boom are extraordinarily uncommon. These can not be dismissed just because there are a couple of meteor showers this month.

Sadly I must agree with you ExSoldier. Seems we've stopped two mall bombings, what's to say more aren't planned. That's why I stay armed, at least as much as I can (can't carry into work).

Same thoughts here. Some impacts/explosions may well be something entirely different.

Hi JG,
I had pretty much dismissed the meteors, but after reading rickylc's post number #968, I am also going hmmmm...
Thanks for your eye witness report from NYC. Seems much activity while you were there. Maybe we did thwart a major attack. Shame we may never know for sure.

"That's why I stay armed, at least as much as I can (can't carry into work)."I can't carry into work, either, but then, I'm off for the summer! :~)
Just remember, serious guns/calibers for serious times! No mouseguns! Nothing smaller than a 9mm and preferably no calibers that start with a number other than "4." Realistically that would mean a .40 or a .45ACP. Yes it's a pain in the summertime. I live in South Florida. So I carry a belly bag with my Glock M27 in 40 cal. Or I go to an IWB for my 45 Colt Commander. ALWAYS carry a spare mag.
If you see your front sight in sharp relief and you see your target at the same time (little bit fuzzy) you're almost guaranteed a hit.
Just remember: FRONT SIGHT!

Early in the morning of Nov. 28, federal agents swept into a North Side neighborhood and arrested a Somali immigrant.

This will make you even madder OUR GOVERNMENT MOVED THESE PEOPLE HERE. ON 2 DIFFERNET OCASIONS THEY HAVE MOVED ABOUT 5000 INTO ATLANTA AND RALIEGH,NC...They then move to Maine because the government benefits are better. These people have never even seen a toilet
LEWISTON, Maine - Somali community leaders lashed out at the mayor yesterday for asking them to discourage friends and family from moving to Lewiston, calling his message "inflammatory and disturbing."
The Somalis said Mayor Larry Raymond's three-page letter, which came after several clashes between blacks and whites in the community, will increase tensions and called on cops to guarantee the safety of Somalis.
The letter, which was signed by 25 Somali leaders, also called Raymond an "ill-informed leader who is bent toward bigotry."
In his three-page letter last week, Raymond wrote that the city of 36,000 has absorbed more than 1,000 Somalis in 18 months, and cannot absorb more newcomers "without negative results for all."
"Our city is maxed-out financially, physically and emotionally," he wrote
The Somalis came to the United States from camps in Kenya, where they fled to escape their country's civil war. Many of them originally settled in the Atlanta area but decided to leave the city and its high crime rate in favor of Maine, which has one of the nation's lowest crime rates. "To be calm and without trouble, that is why we chose here. In big cities, life is hard," said Mohamed Diriye, who moved to Lewiston from Atlanta.

To me- there seem to be only 3 explanations for ALL of our airforce carriers to be at sea. I'm probably missing other alternatives due to lack of information. 1. Incoming space objects 2. Potential destruction in their home ports by AQ 3. Potential destruction in their home ports by Russ/China/Iran/whomever Perhaps incoming space objects may be perceived as incoming missiles? (doubtful- just a thought) Didn't NORAD once go on alert due to a flock of birds perceived to be an incoming weapon? What may lead credence to #1 is information coming in that ALL nations are moving their ships out to sea. However- then again- all nations would be concerned about a nuclear world war. If the concern were merely to get the ships out of the ports, would the ships be sent to areas of potential conflict? Or could there be some unknown interaction between incoming space objects triggering offensive systems? I don't know. My belief is that we are on the verge of nuclear world war. We've basically told Iran that we will destroy their facilities, and I'm sure they have long been aware of Israel's plans as well. And Israel vs Iran is only one conflict- the most terrifying (for the world) being the US/Russia& China. Never- even at the height of the Cold War- have all the carriers been sent out. The Russian exercises are said to be "unprecedented." Finally, here is something I just read by CliffMickelson: "USS KITTY HAWK STEAMING OFF THE STRAITS OF MALACCA?" Posted By: CliffMickelson Date: Sunday, 13 June 2004, 5:40 p.m. In Response To: USS RONALD REAGAN STANDS OUT TO SEA...11 BIRDFARMS OUT! (CliffMickelson) Greetings, fellow Midshipmen! I have received a series of reports (as of yet, unsubstantiated) that the Kitty Hawk is currently steaming off the straits of Malacca, near the coast of Malaysia. Where ever she may currently be, she does not, however, (as far as I have been able to acertain) appear to be at home port. The Kitty Hawk is a non nuclear, permanently forward deployed battle carrier group. She is based in Osaka, (?) Japan and is to be found consistantly serving "point" for the needs of Pacific Command. (pacom) -CliffMickelson " (rumormillnews) Thoughts?

The Bush administration has pledged to eliminate special security checks imposed on men entering the United States from a list of mainly Muslim countries considered a risk for terrorism.

This makes me think it's not working. Do they think a terrorist is going to come in here legally?

Yes- I've now started to rethink the meteor-strike information, as well. For a number of our posters to have experienced "close encounters" is alarming.
To: rickylc
I agree it could have been anything and I am not suggesting a meteor. We have lived here for 9 years and I have never heard anything as loud. I called and spoke with the Sheriff's office and they did receive several reports from our area. They sent four police cars immediately and then sent out the Sheriff's search helicopter. They checked with FP & L and were told that no transformers had blown in the area. The police did not find anything and they are guessing that since school is out that maybe a group of teens set off a couple of M-80's. It appears that it will remain unsolved.
My husband said that he would guess it to be sonic boom from Military Jets. The military are doing all sorts of exercises now. Also in the past when they have scrambled jets from Homestead Airforce Base we have seen and heard them high above, but never with a big boom.

Nice piece. I usually carry a Beretta 92 w/ 2 extra 15rnd mags. It's got a CTC laser sight for low light conditions. Makes target acquisition FAST.
Only drawback is it's not easy to conceal in the summer. I wear long, lose short sleeve shirts. I'm thinking about getting a Sig P239 in .40. A bit easier to conceal.
It's good to know there are folks out and armed. 'The life you save may be someone else's.'
It could very well be one armed citizen in the right place at the right time that stops an attack.
