Al Qaeda Claims to Kidnap American 2nd U.S. Contractor Killed in Saudi Arabia From News Services Sunday, June 13, 2004; Page A26 RIYADH, Saudi Arabia, June 13 -- A purported al Qaeda statement Saturday said the terror group's operatives in the Saudi capital had kidnapped one American man in the Saudi capital and killed another. My apologies, it's CNN.

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The United States has evidence that Iran has secretly been building large nuclear facilities -- sites that could possibly be used to make nuclear weapons, senior U.S. officials tell CNN

"It was not more than a century ago that *millions* of Americans were card-carrying members of the Klu Klux Klan. (Actually, a significant portion of the American population supported the organization) "

That's not true. I don't know what kind of revisionist crap your teachers in high school were spouting, but that is categorically incorrect. The KKK never, EVER counted it's membership in the *millions.* It is also incorrect to say a significant proportion of Americans favored the KKK. Perhaps at one time in the SOUTH, that may have been correct. But actually, most southerners who were not white trash were just embarrassed by the Klan. But, just who was the ruling political party in the South at that time? Klansmen were often times political leaders in their communities. Which party? Hmmmmmmm. But you make it sound like there were more Americans who supported the Klan in their time than there are muslims who support Jihad at THIS time. I don't think so.

The difference between Islam and Christianity is that the great "I AM" sent his son, Jesus to die for US. But Allah demands that his sons and sons of sons die for HIM. For Islam, peace equals victory. Jihad is not a recent phenomenon. Since it's creation by Mohammed, it has always been spread thusly. "Believe, or DIE!" In the end, it is self delusional to believe that the two cultures can peacefully co-exist. OTOH, I cannot in good faith recommend genocide, at least by the hand of man. This is all going to play out according to God's perfect plan. In the meantime, we have to keep hunting the Jihadists and keep their plans for us off balance and out of whack. If we slip, the consequences may make 911 look like a picnic.

Say we get hit this summer in a (GOD FORBID) nuke attack. Not a dirty bomb type device, but a real nuclear blast. IF we can identify a nationstate that afforded the AQ the opportunity to obtain the weapon, they should face nuclear consequences. Dust off the Neutron Bomb, I say. That will keep radiation hazards to a bare minimum.

What's with all the pipe bombs recently? This is from the Eugene,Oregon area.

June 10, 2004

The maintenance crew at Fern Ridge Reservoir discovered something unusual Tuesday morning and the bomb squad was called out.

Crews found a pipe bomb at the the reservoir. A maintenance crew was working in the area when they discovered the suspicious device. And that device was found sitting on the support beam of one of the gates at the Fern Ridge dam.

The Eugene bomb disposal unit determined the device was a pipe bomb that was inactive. --- meaning it had already been exploded. But police don't know where or when that bomb exploded. That has the army corps of engineers concerned.

"We certainly don't like to see something like that appear, but we're always vigilant for suspicious objects," said Judy Stromquist, Assistant Operations Manager with the Army Corps of Engineers.

The bomb was made up of a 4-and-a-half inch section of galvanized pipe. Police don't know what type of explosives were used in the bomb. As for the reservoir... there are no signs of damage.

Corps of Engineers security is working with the Eugene Police Department to try and figure out who may have placed the bomb at the reservoir.

They're also trying to determine when that bomb was exploded.

My "hobby" is tracking terrorists on the Internet and after doing so for a couple of years I believe it's time to launch a campaign against Yahoo -  one of the leading internet purveyors of terror.

A friend suggested the phrase, "Do You Yahoo? Al-Qaeda Does!"  His suggestion came as a result of Yahoo's long time hosting of a  recently disabled  group called  "Global Islamic Media" (GIM), which up until a few weeks ago had over 6,000 members and was a reported mouthpiece for al Qaeda.

While GIM appears to be currently off line, it is possible that it could be operating under a slight variation of its previous name.  For example. In the space of a few weeks, I found that the group's on line name changed from Global Islamic Media to Global Islamic Media Centre (note the spelling) to Global Islamic Media Center.

If you are wondering why I'm so steamed in view of the group apparently being off line, GIM was only one of many radical Islamic groups that continue to be hosted by the internet giant. Yahoo refuses to respond to requests for information as to why it hosted GIM and other similar radical Islamic hate groups, issuing only this statement to me a few weeks ago.

It came from Mary Osako, Mary Osako, Yahoo's Director of Communication. She said that those wishing to use Yahoo Groups "agree to not use the Service to upload, post, email, transmit or otherwise make available any content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, tortious, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libelous, invasive of another's privacy, hateful, or racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable. When notified of content that may be in violation of our Terms of Service, we are committed to reviewing each report and taking appropriate action, generally within 24 hours."

Interestingly, a series of rotating advertisements for American companies can also be found on many of the posts of these Islamic hate groups. Understandably, officials I talked to were less than thrilled about their company being connected with this sort of hate.

However, be aware that if you fight Yahoo, they play dirty. When my investigative efforts were recently covered by CNN (http://joyjunction.org/video3.htm ), while GIM went off  line for a while before reemerging with one of those slightly different names referred to above, MY Yahoo accounts were disabled.

Let me explain about GIM. The group achieved recent notoriety in part because in Dec. 2003, Islamic militants discussed the possibility of a terrorist attack designed to affect the Spanish general election.

In a March 2004 Agence France Press (AFP) story, the news agency reported that Britain's Channel 4 News revealed that a Dec. 10 posting on GIM, which had previously carried statements purporting to be from Al-Qaeda affiliates, suggested that attacks could help bring about a Socialist election victory and the withdrawal of Spain's troops from Iraq.

According to Channel 4 News, the GIM posting was issued under the name of the Centre for Services to the Mujahideen and read, "The approaching general elections in Spain in March next year must be exploited to the extreme. We think that the Spanish government will not stand more than two blows, or three at the most, before it will be forced to withdraw (from Iraq) because of the public pressure on it. If its forces remain after these blows, the victory of the Socialist party will be almost guaranteed, and the withdrawal of Spanish forces will be on its campaign manifesto."

After the bombings, which killed 200 people and injured 1,500, Spain's conservative party was defeated. Spain's new Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero who criticized President George W. Bush for the Iraq campaign, has withdrawn Spanish troops.

GIM's al Qaeda connection is routinely accepted by many analysts. Paul Eedle, a British investigative reporter who specializes in radical Islam, was interviewed by CNN in March. He commented, "The Global Islamic Media list .... puts out a stream of statements, 30 to 50 a month, explaining the group's strategy and claiming responsibility for its actions, including the Madrid (train) bombings ... "

According to Eedle, the Internet has been a wonderful creation for al Qaeda. "The Net creates a virtual meeting place, a glue that holds together al Qaeda, even though its leadership has been holed up in the mountains and is now surrounded."

So why does Yahoo al Qaeda? Only they know and they're not telling!

Satan is laughing with delight

You're right about that Selene. They get cash rewards for killing Americans. Why wouldn't they do it? If we imprisoned them for killing our citizens, they'd just be released to satisfy the prison abuse scandal crowd. Can't treat them rough because that'd make us look barbaric?

There were huge KKK rallies held in the early part of the last century in the St. Louis region. Some were held at an archaeological mound site across the river from St. Louis in Illinois. In the case of one mound site rally there are photos of the event in papers from the time period which stunned me... people had come from towns and cities all around. Their ire at this time was not so much directed at blacks as it was directed at immigrants, among others groups, that the KKK saw as taking jobs.

Additionally, there were massive pro-Nazi rallies in the north- one in particular that comes to mind was in NY City. Looked like something out of Germany itself.

I doubt they numbered in the 'millions' as well- but there were some areas where they were not at all looked upon as wackoes- at least not in poor economic times.

"Alas, what is your prescription?"

Whether a terror group is an independent actor or an arm of state terror, they cannot exist independent of states. They have to meet somewhere to plan. Someone has to fund and supply them. Someone has to direct them. All these require states. You go after the states and one by one take them out of the equation, then it becomes difficult, if not impossible, to operate.

The al Qaeda statement released today by Zawahiri focused on this issue of democratic transformation. That was the issue Zarqawi mentioned in his captured memo earlier this year. Our strategy is a threat to them. The enemies of mankind want to destroy the region with terror. We want to rebuild it with freedom. And we are.

These days, JP, if you complain, they take the complaint and do nothing. No apology - nothing. I found maggots in 9 Lives Cat Food (shrinkwrapped cans) it was on Mother's Day a few years back. No apology on the phone, no letter, nothing - nada - zip. I was totally horrified when they dropped on my clean floor from the overflowing can! Did they think I was hysteric for no reason? Nuff said about that.

Do you remember when the only 16 oz. cola was Royal Crown?
