On another "Stepford" note, it seems that the producers of "The Stepford Wives" are bold. They dared to use an image of Hillary, purportedly without her majesty's permission.

A trailer for the movie shows the former first lady holding a tray in a pose as an obedient housewife, as if she's just finished baking a batch of campaign cookies.

Not content with raising the ire of only one powerful woman, in an apparent effort to be bipartisan in their provocation, "Stepford" producers included an image of a presumably topless Condoleezza Rice with her arms crossed to cover herself.

The Left Coast Report hears that Bill Clinton was asked for his reaction on the trailer. "I'm upset, outraged and appalled," he said, "Why did they show Condi with her arms crossed?"

Is the big RADAR DISH still there? Do you know what that thing is? When I was on the General Staff at the 9th ID at Lewis, I was told it is an NSA device for evesdropping on enemy (Soviet) transmissions. One day we almost went on full war alert because "something" had somehow momentarily jammed the dish! Never found out any more on that except my bosses (07 and higher) were going nuts!

We used to live across from Site R in the early to mid 80's (Carroll Valley, PA.) A fellow I used to date back then worked there- installing some kind of communications. He would tend to drink a bit too much- he and some of his buddies- and would start talking. It was a an eye- opener, to say the least.

He used to tease me when they issued a practice alert. He would call me up- say at 4 AM- and tell me it was a nuclear alert. I would look out my window (we were on a hill) and watch car after car drive down the trail. Most of the people living there worked at the Site, Ft Ritchie, or FEMA in Emmitsburg.

I had read later that they planned to close the site.

Then, the decision was made to revamp it. I did not know that was Cheney's "undisclosed location" as he would have a choice of over 100!
