Webb's World: Terror War Update
By Tedd Webb - Clear Channel News
Hey America, lets stop for a moment and smell the coffee. Did you hear about the Somali in Ohio? Stop me if you heard this. He was in cahoots with al-Qaeda to blow up an un named shopping center in Cleveland.
What should that tell us? They have a plan, and if they dont succeed at first, they come back. Reference the World Trade Centers 1993, and 2001. These guys are very patient, and very detail oriented.

OK, speaking of helicopters... three military choppers just flew east over my office in the Spokane valley towards Idaho.
This may not sound like a big deal, but it is pretty unusual around here to see a single military chopper, much less three flying in formation... weird coincidence with the chopper discussion earlier.
Jull, do you have insight on this?
JustPooper saw it too and was raving ;)
Down here at Hanford I have seen a single Apache or Pave Hawk patrolling the perimeter a couple times in the last few weeks.
Congratulations!!!
When I was stationed at Fort Lewis, in Tacoma, we used to hold huge exercises at the Yakima Firing Station. How close are you to that? It may still be in use by the SF guys still at Fort Lewis (1st Special Forces Group and the 2nd Ranger Battalion) and they would have some extensive air assets.
It was rare but when we were coordinating off post exercises with private land holders, we used to fly our choppers all over and just set down on the property. When hungry, it wasn't too unusual to see the starving rotor heads set their BlackHawks down next to a Burger King and order 500 whoppers for the whole outfit! Especially if the place was outside of town near a large open field. LOL
Thanks for the knowledgable info Bear!
It has been a few years seen one of the really large-scale exercises occured there.
U.S. Military Reservation - Yakima Training Center
Located a few miles east of Selah, the Yakima Firing Center is one of the world's largest military training centers containing over 260,000 acres. It has expanded enormously since March 15, 1942 when it originally began with 120 acres leased from the Hester family. Today the highest ranking officer at the Firing Center is a Lieutenant Colonel.
The mission of the Firing Center is to train future fighting forces to use weapons, from small arms to 1,000 pound bombs. Soldiers come from all over the world to train there. Their motto is "Training Tomorrow's Forces." The government spends $5 million on this military training center each year.
Fort Indiantown Gap is located northeast of Harrisburg, just north of I-81 (near where it links with I-78) . . . there is (and always has been) very frequent military air traffic associated with that base, especially big ol' helicopters, often flying in 2's or 3's . . . we see them probably at least weekly over here the Cumberland Valley (west of Harrisburg) . . . also, there are National Guard units at Harrisburg Airport - they fly the huge military transport props (I think the particular mission of this reserve unit involves electronic warfare of some type) . . .
They looked like BlackHawks but it was hard to tell, by the time I got to a window where I could see them they were quite a ways off... sure heard them though.

Rudy Giuliani plays Hardball tonight.
Watch Chris get into the 9/11 commission and terrorism with Giuliani -- with a healthy dose of Iraq, politics, and Republican convention talk. The former NYC mayor has his own private consulting firm and is working to help re-elect President Bush and VP Cheney. He also attended the Reagan funeral. Some have even speculated Giuliani for CIA Director -- the NY Post called it "a groundswell of support for Giuliani, a tough manager who won widespread praise for his leadership in the wake of the 9/11 attacks." What a Rudy awakening that would be. The perfect guest for tonight's show.
Thank you tmp02 for the updates.
I remember.
