I still remember how they would tare Nancy to shreds .. whether it be her dresses or her cloths .. oh and then there was the china . . .

I remember that, too.

I'm waiting for the local liberal rag to run that as a comment, so I can write a letter to the editor reminding him that Hillary bought china and furniture as well, but Nancy had the good grace to leave what she bought at the White House.

".. my hubby took control of my TV .."

Thank goodness we have 2 TVs. I'm obessed with watching almost every little morsel of this tribute to the "Gipper", and my hubby sees a little and that's good enough for him. Last night here on FR it was sort of like the beginning of a 12-step program, admitting we were fascinated by watching people move by the casket.

Also, did anyone see Peggy Noonan on C-span today? I would have missed it but I was a little under the weather and switched on the TV. She was absolutely awesome.

Yes, I connected.
You made it easy.
Watching now, but
doubt it'll include his Q and A session
which is GOLD.

Yep, time to leave to go back to Washington and meet with Nancy Reagan at the Blair House and visit the Capitol.

I'm hoping C-Span will replay the press conference. Another FReeper said maybe it was Jonathan Karl/CNN. I wasn't paying attention to the question, until W. said that! By then, the press-holes name had already been said.

Thanks for the ping.

You are absolutely right about the way the press treated the Reagans. I have had several people mention to me since Saturday that they are just shocked that the press now reports as if they had some sort of fair-minded, evenhanded coverage during the Reagan years. It was nothing of the sort. The parallels with the current administration (which will also leave a world changing impact on millions and millions of people) is quite amazing.

I'm sorry I missed President Bush this afternoon, hopefully I'll get to see it later on C-Span.

My hubby took me out to eat last night. I debated between going or staying home to watch the coverage. Food someone else cooked won out--but I hit the "record" button before I left.

I'm looking forward to Bush's comments at the Reagan memorial service tomorrow. W does his best when he's talking about the values that make America great, and when he's reminding the Americans that our strength as a people derive from our faith in God. I still believe the best speech he's given was the memorial at the National Cathedral two days after 9/11.

it sounds like the WMD are up his sleeve too

I heard Paul Harvey this morning talk about a bunch of missile engines from Iraq found in Jordon. It was the first I had heard of this. The engine parts were a big no-no and the UN investigators are very interested. I think I heard that the engine parts were part of a scrap metal delivery from Iraq.

Interesting.
