Caption Daschle on Reagan
AFP (Agencie France Presse) ^ | June 10, 2004 | Shawn Thew

US Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle paid tepid homage to Ronald Reagan, the man
most political observers credit for the steady rise of the rival Republican party during the past two
decades. He and other Democrats said they would respect the decision of Republican leaders
to choose the speakers at a memorial service for Ronald Reagan. (AFP/File/Shawn Thew)

Daschel is so short, I was wondering how a cameraman got low enough to get a shot upwards of him.

They could always skip the ceremonies in protest, thereby showing their true nature to America.

Wrong, The family chooses the speakers. Surely most people will realize when a loved one dies, someone else doesn't made important decisions for them. Hopefully, no one falls for this line.

Do Demo ever have an original idea. Clinton, Pelosi, Dascle, who will be next to spat this line. Demo talking points.

Ahhhh...what a noble gesture. What a great bunch of guys.

Especially considering that fact that the alternative would be to get pissy about it and put up so much of a stink about it that they'd actually throw the coming election to the Republicans and put their party in the toilet for the next 100 years.

Yep. Magnanimity personified.

Watching Daschle's face as they carried President Reagan into the Rotunda yesterday, you could just see him imagining a similar ceremony for himself.

"Respect" it? As opposed to what? Crashing the stage and interrupting the speakers?

" He and other Democrats said they would respect the decision of Republican leaders to choose the speakers at a memorial service for Ronald Reagan "

. . .can only wonder what their other considerations for action were before coming to this 'civil' agreement.

Daschle obviously thinks he and the other demrats are being magnaminous in spirit for their consideration. . .probably think the Repubs will 'owe them big time, for this one as well. . .

These arrogant sobs are less than - and more than. . .incredible. . .

They did not chose, the Reagan family did. They can never, ever tell the truth. It is beyond them.
