word is that she can no longer speak - the taped eulogy for Reagan is something she made years ago.
What a shame! I always liked to hear her speak, not just because of what she said, but because she also has a rich, commanding voice. What a great Lady.
That she taped it years ago....is even more touching.....missed seeing her in the Rotunda....thanks for posting.
She's a great Lady!
Not only extremely eloquent, Margaret was a great friend to America.
Peggy Noonan said that "she could not speak" - not sure what that meant, but given that she has had strokes, it could well be a physical.
The fact that she came just underscores the closeness of the ties she had with Reagan. Travelling in her current state of health has to be hard.
We are so lucky that the two of them were in power at the same time!
Wow...she looks classy.
That goes without saying! My prayers are with her. She was, is, and always will be a great figure in world history.
Her doctors do not want her to speak in public anymore because they feel it will put an unneeded strain on her. Not too long ago, she had a series of small strokes.
She taped the remarks and it will still be nice to see her speak in that regard, but still it must have been great to her the Iron Lady speak in person.
About 10 years ago, I attended a leadership summit in Stockton Ca, where she was the keynote speaker. She was fantastic.
Thanks to FOX and Bill O'Reilly I missed seeing her and many others pay their respects.
It may be that her speech is slurred.
I saw her when she went by earlier. That was about it for me. These two were soul-mates. I've got a photo I'll put up in a few minutes. I didn't take it, but the two of them caught in the midst of a greeting, were positively exstatic to see each other.
I dearly love the English when join us in our efforts.
God love Maggie Thatcher. I sure do.
Same happened to me......stayed with O'R because of his 'talking points' on Chiraq.....I am livid that he's not coming to pay respects to Preseident Reagan.
All his statements of gratitude and loyality on 6/6/04 now ring hollow.....he's a flip-flop just like Teraysa's French-looking Poodle!
"We are so lucky that the two of them were in power at the same time!"
Yes we were.
