They Knew It Was Coming And Stood By And Watched
Knight Of The Mind ^ | 8 June 2004 | .cnI redruM

Soldiers from the 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division recently detained three members of an undisclosed media outlet. They took them back to their encampment and asked them several hours of questions regarding a recent roadside bombing that took place near Mosul.

This type of Draconian military behavior should have spawned days of accusatory headlines in 80 font type. Seymour Hersh should have donned the tin-foil hat weeks ago and told us the story behind the story. This should dominate the antiwar outlets of the US media.

This time, that isn't going to happen. Why no outrage? The reason is simple. The media don't want the entire story told on this one.

The media feels this recalcitrance because this story would embarass them as knaves if all the fulsome and scurvy details ever came to light. To the point, these media members knew the time and location of an IED attack aimed at US soldiers, and did nothing to warn our troops. Instead, they sat there with cameras rolling when the bomb went off. God rode with the convoy of soldiers and the bomb failed to strike it's target.

What the IED accomplished, was the stark revelation of exactly how anti-american our major media outlets have truly become. These reporters and photographers wanted some good, gruesome lead footage and were quite content to let their own country lose soldiers.

Incidents such as this could change public perceptions of the media in a way they would never want to see happen. It wouldn't take Protest Warrior long to march with the signs reading "No Blood For Footage".

DO you have any more specific data that would help demonstrate the veracity of this account? I'm not saying I don't believe it (I do), but the scant detail available in this report makes it sound like an urban legend.

Sounds entirely possible to me, but you need more facts and evidence to back up this post.

Yeah. Here's the info "straight from the horse's mouth:" CENTCOM.

Were they from the US. What news org were they associated with? If this is true I doubt that our military (Rumy) will just let this pass without some scrutiny and publicity.

BTW, does anyone know who the journalists were working for?

It sounds entirely possible to me. Might have been the Reuters guys that were not treated so nicely a couple of weeks ago posted here on FR.

If you think cameramen and 'journalists' of the Michael Moore persuasion wouldn't really film an attack on our troops while doing nothing, consider all the staged protest pics they crank out during events like the G8 summit. Every now and then a pic leaks out that unintentionally shows the 'big picture' around the protesters such as a dozen cameras focused on one or two brick-throwers, the latter being coached by the photogs to 'stand over there' and 'throw another one' etc. Their whole reputation revolves around delivering 'the shot' or 'the interview' to their media daddies and I don't think for a minute they would hesitate to setup and film the deaths of our troops.

No problem with your skepticism, but it was reported by CENTCOM.
It's possible they were victimized as well, but the chances are slimmer.
Check out this report.

There was an earlier report as well, but I can't find it right now.

If the press knew about the ambush and said nothing...then they are as guilty as the terrorists who set the IED or those who detonated it....

They should be tried fairly and subsequently shot for treason...
imo

"the Reuters guys that were not treated so nicely"

Hmmmm? That's a good guess.

I too think these people should be exposed. When the 4 contractors were killed and butchered, there was talk then that there were several media people present when it happened.

WE NEED TO PUT A STOP TO THIS .. NOW!!

Very short. Too short for the scum. How about an M-16 with a .22lr adapter installed? Semi-auto mode only. One shot every few tens of seconds. Use lard for bullet lube, if appropriate.

These media types worked, of course, for Reuters.

The extraordinary part, however, is that they said nothing to the US troops even though they are agents of one of our staunchest allies, the Israelis.

In fact, it may have been that the Israeli (Mossad) agents working as Reuters reporters were trying to establish their credentials wwith the Iraqi kerrorists and that is why they said nothing. I sure hope the Mossad is getting value from their agents under cover as Reuters' reporters.
