I have both dreaded and anticipated the day:
Dreaded, for his family's loss, and anticipated, for Ronnie's release from the prison of Alzheimer's.
Rest in peace, Gipper.

Time to start carving again on Mt. Rushmore. Amen! Bush should push for this. Praise God, I hope that happens
With the added benefit of driving the enviro-wackos nutz.

I actually have been watching CBS and Dan Rather...with fascination.
Very laudatory, very positive, very moving praise.

Good night, sweet prince, and flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.
Even though I expected this, the tears keep coming.
God bless President Reagan's family. God bless our nation.

From K Lo at National Review - Corner -
THE NEXT WEEK [KJL]
What an amazing week it should be. Of tribute, of celebration of a life, of a leader. As I understand it, Reagan will lie in state in Sacramento, then at the Capitol. Then there will be a memorial service at the National Cathedral, after which RR will be flown back to California for a sunset interment at the RR Library.

The right man for America at the right time, a statesman, a leader, a visionary.
Godspeed Mr. President, thank you for your service.

Godspeed Ronnie...A sad sad day

Reagan body was expected to be taken to his presidential library and museum in Simi Valley, Calif., and then flown to Washington to lie in state in the Capitol Rotunda. His funeral was expected to be at the National Cathedral, an event likely to draw world leaders. The body was to be returned to California for a sunset burial at his library.

What's the best guess for a date on the funeral?
I'm speculating Wednesday or Thursday (that would allow 72 hours in the Capitol Rotunda). I need to make travel arrangements...

I'm speechless...I owe that man so much. Before he came along, I was a worthless, whining ultra-lib. He helped awaken my critical facilities in the political arena and turned me conservative. Most of what I've achieved in life resulted from that awakening. God bless you Mr. President. You will be missed.
