GRANBY, Colo. (News 4) A person with a gun has reportedly driven a bulldozer with armor welded to it into several buildings in the town of Granby and heavily damaged the Town Hall, News 4 reports.

The suspect fired shots, and it is unknown what his motive was. Witnesses said police were firing shots at the bulldozer, but were not able to penetrate the armor.

Several buildings were heavily damaged in the main section of town, according to witnesses. Witness Teri Hertel told News 4 by phone that the driver plowed through several trees and signs on the street.

The caterpillar tractor had armor welded to it, according to News 4 photojournalist Rob McClure on scene.

Many police were responding to the situation, including the Jefferson County SWAT team. Emergency crews also called for evacuations, according to witnesses.

Because some in the FBI made mistakes, and worse, some attempted a coverup. But that doesn't excuse Weaver's action, his failure to appear in court, his failure to surrender to authorities, his failure to fight within the legal system. It doesn't excuse any of his actions.

Really?!

The very same legal system acquited Weaver on all charges except failure to appear. Sounds like the government excused his actions. They even paid him $3.1 million for killing his wife.

They tried Kevin Harris for the shooting death of a US Marshall and he was acquited on the grounds that he fired in self-defense.

You need to learn a little bit more about what really happened and stop spouting George HW Bush's propaganda about what happened.

The report said that the guy told people he was going to do it, but no one took him seriously.

It's the classic story.

I'm not justifying her shooting, but rather pointing out that Weaver put her in a position of danger, by refusing to work within the law and creating an armed standoff when he refused to surrender to authorities. When he pointed a gun, he knew that guns would be aimed at him and his family, and knew that such a situation creates a risk of being shot, rightly or wrongly. Bottom line, he chose to put his family at risk. He is no saint, and no victim.

No Sir, I expect my government to be free of corruption. When dangerous situations arrise I expect intelligent, patient, and qualified people to make the right decisions and not shoot people indescriminantly. I expect my government to follow and be constrained by the Constitution that I and they have swarn to uphold, and not find scape goats to justify unlawful actions.

Everybody keeps saying this is a guy. Could be a bad case of PMS.

I have visions of neighbors watching this "person" welding shields to his buldozer and asking what's up? With a reply of "I'm on a mission from God."

Tear gas might be worth a try.

A D5 isn't a real big Cat. A 4-5" heavy walled steel post between the track and the rear sprocket would probably derail the track.

"They need to attach some C4 or dynamite to the SWAT bomb robot and send it over to the cat and take out a track or the whole cat."

Nope.........Just wait him out and send him to prison or the instituition.

That town is so small he could make two runs down each side of the main drag and get 98% of every building in Granby. Boy I guess he got bored fishing in lake Granby.

OJ was acquitted, too. Acquittal, especially when any significant errors are made by the authorities, does NOT equate to innocence.

I stand by my posts. People can judge for themselves as to who is correct in their characterization.
